My Guitar Hero III Gibson Guitar: Takes a Lickin’, Keeps on Tickin’

I hate how my webcam make my finger nails look dirty.
When I bought Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, I wasn’t expecting to still have the game today and the very still working Gibson guitar. Albeit the game isn’t that old but, usually something is wrong with the guitar after a year or so. The strum bar gives way, the whammy bar doesn’t wham any more, the fret bar – wait the green button on the fret bar no longer works; or it simply just stop working no matter how many new batteries you buy and botched do-it-yourself fixes you attempt.
This will probably be the most random blog I make on Asilee.com but, I digress. I loved Guitar Hero and stayed a fan until it got dragged through the mud with the many editions that were released last year in one fell swoop; or failed swoop I should say. With decreased sales and Activision milking it till the cow isn’t even slaughterhouse worthy; I can understand why the game is where it’s at; not going anywhere.
In case you’re wondering, no I don’t play Guitar Hero any more. I have much more important things to do with my time. Although occasionally I do get the urge to pop in Guitar Hero III and play ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia‘ a couple times.
Okay to the point already right? Well this guitar have been kicked, stepped on, rained on, thrown, and almost used as a weapon since I’ve had it. I take good care of my things and the horrible, horrible things mentioned where not because of me. It was because of my ex that also played the game. I was always better than him though, still am.
No telling how long this guitar is going to keep working brand spanking new and I’ve probably jinxed it by bringing it up but, I hope it’s still working in a year or so when I might have time to play again.
I still remember when I first played Guitar Hero and how I was so intimidated by the level of difficulty [I was playing on Easy]. I would get so mad at the game I would cut it off that day and vowed to never play again after that. I always came back though because I’m stubborn as hell. When I started getting perfects on Expert, I thought I was the shit and from the looks of it I was because when Guitar Hero: World Tour came around, getting perfects was so damn easy. The games after Guitar Hero III were insulting but I played them anyway even though they took the thrill and challenging notes away.
Activision I hate what you’ve done to Guitar Hero and some may agree to what I’m about to say but Rock Band 2 was the better game; their highway just sucked.
Well my son is calling me [if you call babbling and drooling on oneself 'calling']. Gotta go.
But before I do, check out this perverted image of me holding the guitar:

Everything is not what it seems.
Bye.
So I’m Buying Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock…

For a late birthday gift anyway. I doubt if I’ll even play it much since I have class and all. I just figured since I didn’t get around to buying Guitar Hero 5, I’ll give Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock a try. I saw through a few videos and the set-list‘s for the game that one of my utmost favorite songs is going to be on there; Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody.
What frustrates me about this franchise is that they watered the game down. I miss the challenge in the game like Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock gave me. Anything close to that after that was Guitar Hero: Metallica. People cried, bitched and moaned that the game was too hard and I guess Activision listened because Guitar Hero: Aerosmith was an insult on the franchise. It felt as if they had nothing else better to do at the time so they threw that monstrosity together and stuck Aerosmith in it.
People are saying that Rock Band 1 and 2 was better than Guitar Hero: World Tour through Guitar Hero 5 simply because
they picked the right songs. I have to agree to some extent. I really loved Rock Band 2 but I really hated their highways and notes. I’m planning on buying that game back some time this month because although their highway and notes are sub-par, their choice of songs were great and that outweighs anything else.
There’s really no point in fan-boys crying or better yet ranting about how one game is better than the other. They’re two different games for a reason. If they were the same in every little detail, you wouldn’t want to play it. I assume most who play these games play them to play their favorite songs. I must say though, Guitar Hero have been lacking in that area. I’m pretty much dumbfounded as to why they pick every other song by the Foo Fighters besides My Hero. It’s fitting isn’t? I guess it has something to do with legal use issues but don’t Activision at least listen to their consumers?
Let’s get on the guitar. Yes, being who I am I bought the bundle pack because it’ll be pretty messed up if my Gibson guitar finally give way when this game comes out. I doubt that’ll happen though. I’ve had it, strummed the hell out of it, stressed it, dropped it, accidentally wet it and it’s still kicking to this day. It plays as if it just came fresh out the wrapping.
My main concern is this; will the guitar – called Battle Axe hold a candle to my Gibson? Can I strum the living shit out of it without worrying about the strum bar snapping? Will this guitar’s strum bar at least have a better grip? That was the only flaw with the Gibson; my hand would slip sometimes because you know, they sweat. Besides the axes being backwards compatible with other guitars and games and having interchangeable face-plates will this guitar last without the whammy bar crippling?
I may sound like I’m making a big deal out of a piece of plastic but, I pre-ordered the bundle last month. I’m just hoping it’s worth the $116.89 [that's with tax and shipping by the way]. I’m a gamer who only have Guitar Hero games for her console. That’s pretty much the only time I’ll touch one now. When I built my gaming rig, I haven’t looked back since.
I’ll have to study the set-list more because I may have just half-assed listened/read it. All in all, I know I’m going to enjoy this game regardless because I’ve been with them since the beginning. If they’re up to snuff or not, Queen is on there and hopefully in the long run they’ll add more of Queen through DLC and other bands that I like…hopefully. I still have to download the DLC for Guitar Hero: Metallica; glad I reminded myself. I simply want to play Suicide and Redemption. So if I have to fork up some Microsoft Points to play it then so be it.

Here’s a side note:
Folks, gaming companies in some shape or form, milk their consumers in some way. Look at EA with The Sims 3 and hell The Sims 2 still? Also to you PC gamers, just because you’re a Call of Camping fan-boy and they screwed you over with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by not giving you dedicated servers among many of other things doesn’t make them ‘evil’. Get your joystick out your ass ok honey?
I’m not naïve or oblivious to any facts. I’m just saying, if you really hate what Activision is doing, don’t support them. Don’t say you’ll go on eBay to get Call of Duty: Black Ops when it comes out in November to keep from supporting Activision because believe it or not, the money makes it back to them. The people you buy the games from can’t pull the games out the crack of their asses. The games come from Activision. So you’re basically supporting them through someone else. I mean they can’t be that evil if you still want to buy their games through eBay. Gamers with a chip on their shoulders can be quite the knee-slapper.

Beast and the Harlot, Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, and Online Gameplay
I don’t know what it is about Beast and the Harlot when it comes to playing online but when I want to play Band Quick-play and I’m not first to pick a song everyone else picks Beast and the Harlot. Its getting really annoying actually because it seems like I’m always the last to pick a song so I have to wait til everyone wants to pick that same tired ass song then I can pick something different. Its like they don’t realize there are other songs to play on the game. I know for a fact that they don’t realize people get sick of playing and the same song every time they want to play online with someone. Hell, they should be tired of the song by now.
I wish I had a clue to why people enjoy that song so much. I truly need to know and understand why that is the most played song on Guitar Hero: Smash Hits. Just hearing that song makes me cringe and want to blame Activision, Beenox, and Neversoft for cursing that game. While we’re on songs for that game, a few songs they put on there from Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock were horrible. They should of took the same exact songs from Guitar Hero III and put them on Guitar Hero Smash Hits. The song Rock and Roll All Nite by Kiss, they took the whole solo out, why I have no clue. I think its because they are making the game easier for players who complain about the game being too hard. It would be great to get a Guitar Hero game like the Guitar Hero I through Guitar Hero III days again.
Curse you Avenged Sevenfold!

Left 4 Dead 2: Music Video Made by Asilee Herself
I haven’t made a video or well edited video footage since the 10th grade and I was really damn good back then. Well if you’ve watched it you can see that I didn’t do anything special to it. Just added music and cut up a few videos and put them in different spots. I only did this video because of the song. I was playing this song on Guitar Hero: Smash Hits when it dawned on me that this would be a good song to make for a Left 4 Dead video. So after 5 days of thinking about it and finding the right program, [I end up going with Windows Movie Maker] I made the video and uploaded it to Youtube.
All the videos I used were downloaded from GameTrailers.com and the song was downloaded from TopList.fm.

You don’t know me…
-Sigh-
Of course there are people out there with opinions that they try to convince others that they’re facts. Then we got fools who don’t have no facts but assume they know the deal about me for example. Going off what I have been posting in the last week or so doesn’t mean thats all I play. Just because you see the recent games that I played on my gamertag doesn’t mean thats all the hell I play. Just because you can’t even imagine what it would look like to actually sit next to a gamer let alone try and make sarcastic comments about a gamer doesn’t mean what you’re saying is true. Making assumptions about someone you will never meet or know a day in your life is pointless. Yes, I’m a gamer and I shouldn’t have to prove that to anyone but myself.
People can’t just assume shit about someone just based on what they see what the person blogs about or whats on her gamertag. If I went around doing that to people I bet I would be the farthest from the truth with most. I barely play my Xbox 360 any more, I’ve just finished building my gaming PC so excuse me if I don’t list all the games in my blog that I do play or did play or will play. My blog isn’t based on JUST video games. I can’t cover everything in under a month. People who type “LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL” after a tired ass joke fail to realize that they’re the ones they’re laughing at.
People can be so lame because they use their computer as a security blanket, knowing they would never approach someone like that in real life. They would keep all of what they want to truly say in their heads. Its easier to assume what people are/aren’t online. You can’t get all of the facts and details about someone through a font on someones blog especially if you’re going by the content. So the idiot that felt they knew me based on my blog and what was in it, do you feel better? Would you like a damn cookie?
Also, people like me can have every last system that came out with working cords, remotes, and games to most of them but that does not make them a gamer. Building a gaming PC doesn’t make them a gamer either, so lets just clear the airways on that shit before someone tries to use that as a rebuttal. So Lippy or whatever name you used to make your tired ass joke, do you even KNOW what makes a gamer a gamer? You probably don’t because all you could mention was Guitar Hero and The Sims 3. How fail are you? You can, “LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL” all you want but, I’m still going to be a gamer no matter how you or anyone else feel. No matter what you or anyone else assumes.
Furthermore, if anyone, thinks they’re a gamer because they play The Sims 3 and or Guitar Hero well fine okay, people have their OWN definitions but no that doesn’t define mine. So again, know the facts before assuming shit about a gamer you don’t know.
If you must know, my forte is IT if you don’t even know what the hell that is its Information Technology. I rather build gaming PCs than actually play them. I rather design video games than actually play them. I write programs more than I actually play video games. Go ahead and base what you see on what you don’t. Everyone don’t have to talk like a rocket scientist to actually be one. Who likes talking like they ate a Merriam Webster any damn way?
Being a sexist bastard will get you no where! Especially when you don’t know shit about the person.

Michael Jackson Needs His Own Guitar Hero
When you hear about Michael Jackson or see his name you probably see what he has become. Well not me, I think he is the greatest and it would be awesome for him to have a Guitar Hero game, hell he has songs that would be fun to play on Guitar Hero. Anything before Invincible was bonafied classics. Give this new generation good music that they should of been exposed to a long time ago. Although the chance in a Michael Jackson having a Guitar Hero game is a billion to one. This is just for fun so don’t take it literally. I guess I could name my favorite songs:

Guitar Hero: World Tour Review
![]()
Wow, when I finally got around to purchasing Guitar Hero: World Tour. I was expecting great feats from this game. Guitar Hero never cease to amaze me. I haven’t bought the whole set yet but I will in the near future. I don’t even have the guitar yet. I still have the guitar from Guitar Hero III. Even though yea its operation all Guitar Hero: World Tour, I’m missing out on the other features without it. Anyway, enough of that. Lets talk about the game.
I sometimes see the similarities between Rock Band 2 & Guitar Hero, even though they were together at one time and decided to part ways; it is really difficult to chose between the two. Rock Band 2 has a better layout and better features to an extent. Even the setlist is better than that of Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero have a good setlist but the design of the characters suck major ass really. I find myself at times playing Rock Band 2 more than Guitar Hero cause I can actually stomach their characters. The instruments between the two are very much alike, but the play of the game is some what different, well for the base that is. Guitar Hero is more challenging and more fun with playing Bass. Its fun and its something new, I mean something had to be different from the two right?
I can’t really discuss the equipment for this game for the simple fact as I mentioned, haven’t purchased it yet. I heard through the gaming-vines that Rock Band 2 instruments are far better design wise. Anyway, moving on.
I will though mention that the loading times are faster than on Rock Band 2. The game has more storage and the graphics are great, minus the people. The only character on that game I play with is Izzy Sparks. He’s been my buddy through out the whole series of Guitar Hero. He looks more masculine on this version of Guitar Hero but I’m not complaining, I hope they would of changed him up a bit.
Guitar Hero have the regular features and a few other features. here’s Quick Play, Career Mode for both band and single-player, Co-Op play, Face-Off, Battles, etc. Career of course is when you play the setlist to open new features and songs and things like that, that’s for band too. Single-player when you want to play solo. Co-op play when you want to play with a friend whether its online or not. Face-off Battles is my favorite which is too online or offline. The best thing that makes Guitar Hero better than Rock Band 2 is that, they don’t make you play the same songs over and over in different venues and cities. That was a big turn off for me when I first acknowledged that. When it comes to pick the songs though when you just want to play a quick game in quick play its so
unorganized and they only allow you to chose 6 songs. While Rock Band 2 allow you to pick the whole setlist if you want. Which is 85+ songs.
Even unlocking a song is a hassle in this game. If you played it you’ll understand what I mean. If you unlock a song by yourself and then you decide to play the band career, you won’t be able to play it cause you unlocked it solo. Thats kind of dumb isn’t it? Rock Band makes it an option to save your fellow band mates if they are struggling, Guitar Hero does not. Also Guitar Hero makes you share the star power while on Rock Band 2, you and your band mates have their own star power. Thats been one of my biggest complaints since the beginning.
Even though the game gives you an option to have your own online band if you don’t have one for your own. Which is probably why I haven’t bought the whole set yet. You can also if you have the whole band set and good players, you and another band can battle it out online also. See the game isn’t that messed up.
Okay the fact that you can make your own songs just about pwns Rock Band 2. Even though that needs a few tweaks too but its a start. Further down the line hopefully the game will continue to amaze the players. The soundtrack could of been different cause even though the whole setlist wasn’t exactly like Rock Band 2 it was almost close to it. They have a good selection though even though it still needs work. Such as Disturbed, Michael Jackson, Linkin Park, Metallica. They need more than just one song on the game instead of downloading them. That crap cost a lot of Microsoft Points, well if you’re playing on the Xbox 360.
When creating your ideal character, it gets very thorough. You can change the features a lot on this game. You can even have the option to change the age of your character also. That’s nice too but the skin pigment needs a lot of work. Some of the pigments make it look as if you’re glowing from some toxic waste or something. So that’s why I just stick with the original characters from the game. While on Rock Band 2 I use the character I created. Her name is Lee.

My character [Lee
