Saint’s Row: The Third Already Leaked for PC?
Is it true or fiction? It isn’t too far-fetched. This has been the year for leaked games and Saint’s Row: The Third isn’t excluded. 
Any way, it’s been said that there has been a leaked version of Saints Row: The Third, but no crack; saying that will come after the game is released. No, I’m not encouraging you to go and take it upon yourself to download anything illegally. Support the games you love and go out and buy the game. Yes, they cost an arm and a leg, yes you may be broke afterwards but if everyone went out and stole games, developers won’t make them; or make them harder to pirate.
When you pirate a game, you’re destroying PC gaming; that’s not fair for people who buy their games.
A lot of games require you to have a constant internet connection anyway and you may not realize this but those type of games are hard to crack and not worth the effort. You waste less energy simply buying the game than browsing the web for a pirated version of the game. It’s also confusing to the less savvy computer users. At the end of the day, it isn’t worth it. So go out and support Volition and buy the game.
Also, let’s get one thing clear, I’m not talking about a leaked demo, I’m talking about the complete game. I repeat, not the demo, the complete game. If you decide to download a pirated version of the game, all it will do is sit there until the 15th or so until a crack is developed, so it’s pointless. Support the game industry. For the sake of PC gaming!

Battlefield 3 XP Glitch: EOD Robot XP Trick
This easy and well known exploit for the Engineer in Battlefield 3 requires only three things: the EOD robot, a helpful human partner, and a Hardened Match which features friendly fire. The partner shoots the robot while the Engineer repairs it, which earns a constant steam of XP.

My Guitar Hero III Gibson Guitar: Takes a Lickin’, Keeps on Tickin’
I hate how my webcam make my finger nails look dirty.
When I bought Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, I wasn’t expecting to still have the game today and the very still working Gibson guitar. Albeit the game isn’t that old but, usually something is wrong with the guitar after a year or so. The strum bar gives way, the whammy bar doesn’t wham any more, the fret bar – wait the green button on the fret bar no longer works; or it simply just stop working no matter how many new batteries you buy and botched do-it-yourself fixes you attempt.
This will probably be the most random blog I make on Asilee.com but, I digress. I loved Guitar Hero and stayed a fan until it got dragged through the mud with the many editions that were released last year in one fell swoop; or failed swoop I should say. With decreased sales and Activision milking it till the cow isn’t even slaughterhouse worthy; I can understand why the game is where it’s at; not going anywhere.
In case you’re wondering, no I don’t play Guitar Hero any more. I have much more important things to do with my time. Although occasionally I do get the urge to pop in Guitar Hero III and play ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia‘ a couple times.
Okay to the point already right? Well this guitar have been kicked, stepped on, rained on, thrown, and almost used as a weapon since I’ve had it. I take good care of my things and the horrible, horrible things mentioned where not because of me. It was because of my ex that also played the game. I was always better than him though, still am.
No telling how long this guitar is going to keep working brand spanking new and I’ve probably jinxed it by bringing it up but, I hope it’s still working in a year or so when I might have time to play again.
I still remember when I first played Guitar Hero and how I was so intimidated by the level of difficulty [I was playing on Easy]. I would get so mad at the game I would cut it off that day and vowed to never play again after that. I always came back though because I’m stubborn as hell. When I started getting perfects on Expert, I thought I was the shit and from the looks of it I was because when Guitar Hero: World Tour came around, getting perfects was so damn easy. The games after Guitar Hero III were insulting but I played them anyway even though they took the thrill and challenging notes away.
Activision I hate what you’ve done to Guitar Hero and some may agree to what I’m about to say but Rock Band 2 was the better game; their highway just sucked.
Well my son is calling me [if you call babbling and drooling on oneself 'calling']. Gotta go.

Dead Island: Survival Guide
Most of the strategies listed if not all should already common knowledge but if they’re then you came to the right blog. I just finished beating Dead Island and figured I could be of some help with some that are frustrated. I could have completed the game long before now but that recent update that was released ruined my save file, thus causing me to start over from scratch. Which I’m glad I did because I ran across a few things I missed the first time.
- Run! I know experience points is everything but if you’re playing alone and you’re outnumbered, the best thing you should do is to run, run, run. Especially if you’re in Moresby traveling across the map to do a mission. There are only a few chances to actually drive a vehicle on this part of the map.
- Don’t avoid Rams. [Well sometimes it's necessary]. Especially if they’re out in the open. Usually there’s a chest close by to check out. Which is why it’s essential to be fully leveled up in the lock picking tier.
- Venture away from missions. Yep, you will run into some really beneficial side missions, metal chests, skulls [blue, orange, green, purple], mods, large amounts of money, and rare items if you run around the map.
- Know when to pick your battles. There’s a reason why there are tips at the loading screens. The one about there being extremely difficult areas on the map if you were to venture them alone is one you should not take with a grain of salt. If you venture to these parts, be heavily armed, supported, healed, aware. You lose a large chunk of money every time you die. So to keep that change in your pocket, pick your fights.
- Do not give Jin all your unnecessary items. I say this for two reasons. One, 9/10 you probably won’t need them; two, if your file size get over a certain amount; say 10260. If your saved game file exceeds over that number, your game will crash. Resulting in a very pissed and upset gamer. You must keep your file save below 10260. So that means for all those unnecessary gears, lemon juice, etc, just drop them. If you manage to go over the required file size you will have to resort to this tutorial. I must warn you though, it’s for advanced computer users only. Anyone less equipped will probably be confused.
- Do not enter the jail! If you want to continue playing online that is. This may be a little too late for most but um, I recently tried playing online after I beat the game [it could have been a glitch or it could have been patched by now] and…I couldn’t. Probably because once you enter the jail, you’re at the point of no return. Which brings me to my next point…
- Do all side quests! They hold the key to getting some really good weapons. Also because they’re fun. Who wants to stick strictly to the main story? You’ll beat the game too quickly then and probably won’t level up as fast; with weak weapons. Don’t rush through the game, the ending is disappointing anyway [well in my opinion].

This update hasn’t been given an official release date as of yet, but Microsoft should make more information available to the masses soon. In the meantime, everyone who owns a 360 has a ton of new games to look forward to this month alone, and those will eclipse any frustration left in the wake of the new dashboard update.
Dead Island: My Game Crashes At Loading Screen
First how many items did you give Jin? If your game save file is over 10260 then Houston, you have a problem. That’s usually the cause behind your Dead Island gaming crashing to desktop without an error message. Well below – first let me say this is for advanced users only. As of this moment until this glitch is fixed and you’re impatient this is the only solution to getting your game back in working order.
This is a complicated fix and worked. Make sure you back-up your original save file some where outside of the games save folder.
Programs needed:
- Winrar or Winzip or something similar to these programs.
- Any free hex editor.
- Gzip [to zip back up].
Start new game with the same character you used in your crashed game. (ACT 1). Remember which save game is which.
‘save_0′ is the first game created. ‘save_0.sav’ is just a zipped file extension. Win-rar will unzip ‘save_0.sav’ into ‘save_0′ [with no file extension].
In this example [actual save numbers may be different in your case].
save_0: Original save.
save_1: New game you made.
What you need to do now is as follows:
- Open save_0 and save_1 in a hex editor.
- You will see a bunch of zeros toward the end. After the mob of zeros you will see an 18 followed by more characters.
- In the original save delete 18 and everything afterwards.
- In the new save, take the hex from the same area and copy and paste where it was in the original. What this does is resets your quest but the file size should be small enough to run the game.
- Remember take info from the new game to the original and make sure you have a copy that hasn’t been touched
- Use Gzip to zip the save_0 to save_0.gz.
- Rename save_0.gz to save_0.sav.

Dead Island: Can’t See Any Servers [Solution]
Hi I have recently discovered a way after hours on end trying to solve my problem of Not being able to see any servers in the Game Lobby. If you’re reading this I’m assuming you have already followed all the how to play Dead Island Co-Op guides and have update 3 installed.
FAQ
- Q: Why is my Game Lobby greyed out? I can’t click it.
- A: That is because your steam_appid.txt isn’t on read only. To fix this go to where you installed Dead Island, in my case it’s C:\Program Files (x86)\Dead Island find steam_appid.txt → Right Click it → Properties → tick read-only → press okay. Make sure the appid is 57940.
If you started a profile already and would like to keep the save file, what you’ll have to do is go to your steam install directory.
For me it’s C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\. Click the folder ‘userdata’. For me it’s C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata. Next, click each folder and find the one with your previous appid. If you changed from 13140 → 57940 and would like to keep the save files you had you find 13140 in the folders. After you click into it you should see remote\out\.
Before migrating the files you need to finish ACT 1 and save a character. After you do that then you copy the folders profiles and saves and paste it into 57940\remote\out run the game and you should be able to click Game Lobby.
Note: Make sure you select LAN and not Internet.
- Q: I can’t see any games in Game Lobby.
- A:
- Go to your steam install dir. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\.
- Delete clientregistry.blob.
- Go to your Dead Island install dir. C:\Program Files (x86)\Dead Island\.
- Find steam_appid.txt Right Click → Properties → Untick Read-Only.
- Edit steam_appid.txt and change whatever 5 digit number in there to 57940.
- steam_appid.txt Right Click → Properties → tick Read-Only.
- Go to Network and Sharing click change adapter settings press ALT click Advanced → Advanced Settings then change your Wireless or Local Area Connection to the TOP.
- Restart your computer, boot up Tunngle join Dead Island channel, boot up smart steam, boot up Dead Island, press ESC click Game Lobby and you’re good to go!
- Q: I have done all of that and I still can’t see my friends game or vice versa.
- A: You should be able to see other players’ game on Tunngle, tell your friend to make a new character and see if you can see him or he can see you.
- Troubleshoot: Can’t see others in network.

Dead Island: How to Play in Co-Op Mode via Smart Steam & Tunngle
Please have in mind that there is a very small chance to be VAC banned because u have made changes to these files so I recommend using a new Steam account and choose in-game options → Online VAC secured game to NONE and when you play co-op play it with people who are also disabled this option!
Camera FOV Mode:
This mod changes camera degree [default is 62.5] to 82.5 for better view!
Installation:
- Go to: Dead Island → DI and find file “Data0.pak”, open it using Winrar than open Data folder and find ‘skills’ folder, inside find file called ‘default_levels.xml‘ and un-pack it to desktop.
- Open this file using notepad, than scroll a little down and find string “< prop n=”CameraDefaultFOV” v=”62.5″/ >” and change number to 82.5 and save it.
- Go to Dead Island → DI → out and create a folder named ‘data’.
- Inside this folder, create another folder called ‘skills’ put the file ‘default_levels.xml‘ you was edited.
Strong fists MOD + Fists skill experience bonus:
- Very funny mod, with this you don’t need any weapon.
Installation:
Go to: Dead Island → DI and find file ‘Data0.pak’, open it using Winrar.
Open Data folder and find the ‘skills’ folder; inside find the file called ‘default_levels.xml‘ and unpack it to desktop. Open this file using notepad, than scroll a little down and find these strings:

Install Notes:
- Simply extract it any where its convenient [It doesn’t have to be your Dead Island folder], and run the program.
- Run program.
- Right click on the icon in the task-bar and choose ‘Change your Dead Island Game Folder‘ and choose where you installed the game.
- Tweak game.
Program Fixes:
- Tweaks have been split up and categorized. The result is a cleaner interface and an easier time finding the tweaks you want.
- Alternate settings folder support. You can now switch between My Documents and your game folder, if you’re finding that the tweaks aren’t working
- Added the following tweaks:
- Disable event logging.
- Disable in-game voice.
- Enable simple shadows.
- Video.scr is read-only or writable and the ability to easily switch between these settings.
- The program should now prompt the user for administrative privileges.
- Renamed the keystroke repetition feature to make its usefulness more obvious.
- Corrected a typo with the field of view settings.
- Added a close menu option along with exit program.
- Various checks and balances for missing files and directories.
- Added a passive check for the micro-stutter fix so it only limits keyboard repetition while Dead Island is running.
- Fixed a potential memory leak in the file extraction routine.
If you want to further improve graphic settings:
Go to your game installation folder open DI → out → settings and with notepad open file called ‘Video.scr’.
Here u can tweak settings:
- Resolution: [choose your resolution].
- Monitor: [0].
- BPP: [24].
- FSAA:[16].
- TexBPP: [32].
- Texture Quality: [High].
- Filtering: [Anisotropic Trilinear].
- Fullscreen.
- Shadows: [High]
- Shadow Map Size: [409]. You can choose from 512-1024-2048-4096.
- Spot Shadow Map Size [4096]. You can choose from 512-1024-2048-4096.
- Light Maps.
- Gamma Float: [1.00].
- Max Refresh: [60].
- Material Quality: [Low].
- FX Quality: [High].
- FX Fade Level: [Low].
- Water Quality: [Low].
- Grass Quality [Low].
- Env Quality: [Static] – FullDynamic, RareDynamic, Static [your choice].
- Shader Path: [5] – 0 – 1.1, 1 – 1.4, 2 – 2.0, 3 – 3.0, 4 – x360, 5 – 4.0, 6 – ps3.
- Display Device Type: (0,0.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.000000).

Please follow instructions below:
- Install game.
- After that open “Dead Island_Update1_SP_COOP.rar” folder and un-rar files and copy them to your installation folder where u installed the game and replace files.
- Install Steam from ‘Steam’ folder, let it update and create new account [If u already don't have any].
- Open “Smartsteam” folder and copy all files to: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam and make a shortcut of Smartsteam on your desktop [because you will use Smartsteam and not the original steam].
- Run Smartsteam and go to games.
- Add a non-steam game → browse and find your deadisland.exe in installation folder, check the box and go “add selected programs”.
- [If you're in a different region - follow this step] Go to steam settings → downloads → cloud and pop up ‘download region’ menu and choose your region, after that minimize smart steam; don’t close it.
- Install Tunngle, create account [if u already don't have one], then go to search network ‘Dead Island’, when u find it just double-click to open it.
- Create desktop shortcut of deadisland.exe from your game directory and run it as administrator, when u start game in lower right corner u will see Steam logo.
- To be able to play co-op mode, go to settings
While in-game:
- Game Type: Cooperative
- Game Visibility: LAN
- Public Slots: Make your choice.
11. Go to ‘Play’ and when u finish the first level (Act 1 ) you will be able to play co-op mode, just press ESC [or start] button and choose game lobby to find people to play with.
IMPORTANT:
If u are already played game and wasn’t able to play coop after patching game with this files i give u , u will lost all saves so u need to start all over again.
If u have problems with save game after restarting Smartsteam try:
- Completely uninstall Steam.
- Delete what was left in the folder.
- Clear registry with CCleaner.
- Create new account on Steam.
- Install Steam again and copy SmartSteam files.
- Add Dead Island to Non-Steam games.
Update 2 [remember with changing updates u will probably lost your save progress] – u need to have Update 1 first, than apply Update 2!

“I’m a Female Gamer & Everyone is Out to Get Me!”
Get your undies out your butt and simmer down. The days where men don’t take female gamers seriously are slowly coming to an end. So you don’t have to stand up in your swivel chair and protest to the gaming world that you’re a female with working and very coördinated opposable thumbs. No one cares. I don’t care, the next gamer don’t care, the universe don’t care. Feel comfortable in your skin for once. The gaming world isn’t out to get you and people can care less what gender you are; just don’t suck, cheat, use trainers unnecessarily [same as cheating-doh!], troll, or rage quit.
Just take this into consideration, there are some really good female gamers out there and sadly most of them associate themselves with the overrated and over-hyped up Halo franchise. Something I would have to be paid to play because then, I’ll be able to bear it knowing it’ll all be over soon.
We’re no longer “rare”, we’re no longer “special” and people no longer care. Don’t be offended by this blog, I’m just telling it like it is. This a female gamers heart to heart moment so bear with me.
Let me just point one thing out. Although I haven’t seen this yet but I’m sure it’s happening as I type. Please don’t be a console fan girl. It won’t do you any favors. All three consoles have major flaws, one is better is than the other in some places and worse in others. If you’re going to go into a long drawn out debate about why you feel why the console of your choice is the dominant console, please I beg of you, make sense and know what you’re saying. Be factual, not opinionated. That’s hard to do isn’t it? I mean because you can’t necessarily say that one console is superior to the others if you’re using facts. Honestly, you can just simply say one has less flaws than the others and that’s not really a stretch either. Besides, PC’s will always win that argument but you would have to see it from a PC gamer‘s perspective such as myself to understand why. The Wii, the PS3, the Xbox 360 can have all those motion sensors, but the graphic pull and the red rings and all the other nasty things that come with consoles? It’s not worth it. I can build a decent gaming rig with the amount of money people wasted on a console [the ps3].
I say know what you’re talking about because people don’t even know what chip-sets are inside of their consoles and yet, they’re saying one is better than the other. Get to know your consoles, become one with them if you will. Well that’s my two cents on that subject. Back to the matter at hand…
Shouldn’t feel threatened in any way by your male counterparts, a lot of them suck anyway. Just enjoy gaming and being a gamer. Gaming shouldn’t be divided by gender, there shouldn’t be a war among gamers because of gender. It’s ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, there are some sexist bastards out there. All I have to say about that is, they’re jealous, insecure, or suffer from the lack of attention they was deprived of as a child. Either way, they want you to get upset because that gets them off. Brush that bullshit off and kick some ass.
I love that saying “I can show you better than I can tell you”. So don’t get on the mic menstruating because that’s what they want. Get them where it hurts them the most, in their pride. If you suck though, I would just stick to menstruating on the mic.
