So you hate Black Ops

Personally nicknamed Wack Ops.

Like in any COD game, you aim at someone, press the trigger for a quarter of a second, then get a kill and call it skill.

I must say, that in most situations this is true. There have been on many occasions where gamers thought they were so bitchin’ at Call of Duty like it was some major feat; as if they didn’t have nothing else to be proud of. If getting a 10 kill streak is one of your milestones/dream accomplishments then in my opinion, you need to go outside. I have Call of Duty: Black Ops, I’ve had it before most had it. I didn’t get it for me though, I actually bought it for someone else. Since Black Ops was released, the game have been the ass of a lot of jokes and it seems a lot of people hate the game. The theories are as follows:

  • You can’t quick-scope.
  • You can Noobtube.
  • No nuke boosts.
  • The game lags.
  • Fewer kill streaks to choose from.
  • Nothing has changed.
  • It’s not made by Infinity Ward.
  • People really hate Treyarch.
  • The graphics are that of Playstation 2.
  • Cannot just get 4 noob-ish kill in a row, go hide in a corner and use a kill streak reward.
  • Multi-player experience is pretty screwed.
  • Firecracker gun effects.
  • People comparing Call of Duty: Black Ops to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and getting highly upset because MW2 is better.
  • Storyline is too long and you can’t skip past the story scenes.
  • People not knowing that it was by Treyarch til it was too late.
  • Glitches.
  • PC gamers are riled up due to people already hacking the game.
  • It looks like a re-skinned MW2 with different problems.
  • Some weapons being overpowering.
  • People find using the knife ‘hard’.
  • Sniping is too hard.
  • Maps are too small and too open.
  • Has the same feel as MW2.
  • You have to buy everything with COD $.
  • Zombies is ‘harder’. [You would think players would appreciate the challenge]
  • NO XP/leveling up in wager matches.
  • In ‘capture the flag’ when the other team has flag it doesn’t show you were they are.
  • Everyone can have a claymore and a grenade.
  • Flamethrowers are the new n00bs.
  • Sound is horrible, can’t hear anything; not even footsteps.

Plus many more…

With just few of those you can easily say these type of people hate pretty much every game. Seems people will complain about any and everything these days. People, do your research and maybe you’ll be less disappointed. How can you miss the fact that Infinity Ward didn’t make the game knowing you hate Treyarch so much? You guys are finally realizing what the intelligent (old school) gaming community has told you. The COD games have sucked sense Call of Duty 4. Every year or two they put out the same game with a few changes and slightly buffed graphics; sometimes they don;’t even do that.

Y’all just keep giving them your money and expecting it to be different when somewhere inside, you know nothing has changed; nor will it ever. Call of Duty is a cash cow and they don’t care about their repetitive generic story, the game, the game play, or you. All they want is your money; and like robots stuck on stupid, you keep giving it to them. Stop acting surprised when the game sucks and no you can’t have your money back so stop asking where the “refund button” is because you gave it to them to begin with, which was your 1st mistake. Then you actually took the game home and disgraced your Xbox/PC/PS3 by inserting it in. which was your 2nd.

While instead of taking the game for what it’s worth and just playing it, the game is being criticized and ridiculed when y’all should be used to this by now. Everyone has their own opinion of course but if you went into this blind-folded expecting something different then you pretty much paid for what you wanted. It’s not the end of the world, you’ll be okay. Just go and play your Halo Reach that I’m sure most of you are so fond of. Also just because someone think a game suck, doesn’t mean they suck. Get the joystick out your ass.

Sidenote: If you’re a girl and you play video games. Big Whoop! You don’t have to start every sentence with “I’m a girl” and then say what you have to say about said game. You’re not getting brownie points and girl gamers are no longer rare. Good girl gamers are. I have one more time to play online in any game and I kick one of your asses and you send me all these messages telling me that I cheated and I’m a lame and that you want a rematch. If you want to play with the boys and you want the world to know that you’re a girl with opposable thumbs, sit down, calm down and just play the damn game. You win some and you lose some. Stop acting like a girl breaking your acrylics leaving me stupid messages.

  1. Well I’m a girl who loves playing video games especially FPS and I’m proud to say I don’t kick ass!!! Lol Not that I don’t want too, I just don’t have time to play video games though I would loooove to kick ass one day. My son bought Black Ops, the day before I left for the US so only played it for a few hours, did not really get a chance to appreciate the game. I am not in the UK and told one of the housemate he should get Black Ops but after reading this… I think I’ll go for Mass Effect 2. But will still play it if he gets it of course :) Practice makes perfect even it’s not that good of a game….

    • It still baffles me how females who casually play video games have to tell others that they’re a female who play games as if female gamers are still rare.

      • Maybe it’s a way for them to feel they are “cool” just because they play video games. Guys tend to like to girls that play video games I’ve noticed, so it might be a new trend or something like that?

        • This has been going on since the dawn of time. They come off as “Hey, look at me I’m one of YOU GUYS, I CAN USE MY THUMBS TOO!” Being a female and a gamer is no longer a trend, rare or even cool from what I’ve witnessed. The only people who seem to be at awe with me is that I’m beyond gaming. I build, mod and fix computers/electronics/and consoles for a living. Others find it laughable; because they’re sexist. It’s quite the shame.

          • Then I’m not sure because I don’t really pay attention to these things though when my 11 year old son plays online – his friends online age group is 13-18, he sometimes like to mention that his mum loves video games, and the kids are: wow, i would love my mum to love video games and HE feels good about it.

When I said trend I did not mean a female gamer as a trend but the fact lots of women, especially the younger crowd need something to feel good about themselves. My daughter is going to be 16 and she did everything she could to get reading glasses even though she does not need them and doe not need anything at all to “enhance” herself but she just had to.

I know female gamers are not rare though it is still not a well known industry. Personally I know there are gaming competitions and lots of female teams so they must be kicking ass. I also watched female gamers interviews and it fascinates me but I know this because I am passionate about gaming and I am a blogger and do a lot of research and I also know not a lot of people are aware of this. Personally I don’t know any other female gamers in my close or even not so close entourage, even my kids friends, none of them are girls.

Honestly, you can just smile at them and if it makes them feel good, so be it, good for them.

            • If people turn to video games to get a self-esteem boost then something is mildly wrong with them in all honestly. You are who you are and to use that as an esteem gain is only going to make things worse for them in my opinion. & I also meant trend as the way you put it. Being human of course isn’t a trend.
