I recently bought me a 25″ Hanns-G monitor. It works great and I’m currently using XP. When I hooked up the monitor to my graphics card, my computer was still on. I restarted the computer and it came on when the computer loaded up. If you have a graphics card and you’re using Windows XP, and your monitor isn’t working, try restarting the computer. XP should automatically configure your new monitor. The disc that the latest models come with are usually for Windows 7 and Windows Vista, use that only if you have that OS. It will not work for Windows XP. You shouldn’t need to do anything.
The only thing now is to tweak the contrast settings [I had to do that]. If your monitor have speakers you can use your HDMI to DVI cable then go into the volume settings and switch it back from [said audio drivers] to the one you’re familiar with. It should be in the drop down menu.
