No one is crying over the homeless in the US
You know that saying, ‘charity starts at home’? Well I’m sorry about what has happened to the Haitians, we should help a bit, but I would love to see the ‘billions of dollars needed’ used here in the US, feeding the hungry, homeless, and destitute on our front door. I guess the Katrina mess is all cleared up and things are hunky-dory in New Orleans.
Why must the United States rush to aid other people in other countries where here in the US there are people who are dying, sick, and or homeless? Why don’t I see that very same treatment and selflessness for the Americans? It would seem that a nationwide apocalyptic earthquake is required for Americans to get the same efforts and acts from supposedly their own people. People have to be either damn near death or dead for the US government to even lift a finger.
A hearty well done to us that we are able to extend humanitarian relief to a sovereign nation; however, the President of the United States and the American people owe nothing; nor do we have any legal responsibility to foreign nationals in their own country. Haiti is not apart of the US.
Yes, people are dying, sick, and homeless here in America and people would argue that, its much better to be in America than over there in Haiti. I’m not trying to sound insensitive and I know it may seem like I am but what is Obama; our president doing for us, besides that fucked up HCR bill I refuse to discuss? Hell the Haitians have no government from what I’ve been reading. Their president don’t even want to talk to anyone. They didn’t even have a disaster relief plan of their own. But what I’m not reading about is any other country helping Haiti out unless I’m reading the wrong news articles. Its just pretty damn sad to me that the needy is helping the needy.
The US honestly is good at making other nation’s problems their own. We can’t save the world. These people not long ago were burning US flags saying how evil we were. Now they want not only our help, but to be sent to he US. In a year they will be back to saying how the US is to blame for not paving their streets with gold. We deserve what we get.
I know a few jobless people here in the US that would like the help we have sent down there. That is not including our homeless. No one is crying over them.
Would you still pray to your God(s) that ‘allowed’ this natural disaster to occur? I would take a years supply of food and water for my family than a billion prayers. Plus, the amount of carbon dioxide from the wasted breath, would contribute to further global warming.
It should be obvious that at this point that planet Earth is the mother of all terrorists. How dare this planet decide to have tectonic activity when it would clearly harm US interests. Let’s all go shopping to show this terrorist that our colors don’t run!

Agreed 100%!
i was on facebooks sims 3 fan page and I clicked on this and i will have to say bravo asilee! i totally agree!
I don’t understand why it takes another Country’s disaster for Americans to help people.
Get a load of this

and read some of the comments but the whole situation itself all I can say is things will never change if there’s a profit to made people will do it. The system will not change well possibly but not likely change anytime soon…. and at the end of the day if you do say something about the situation your just a voice that will never be heard by anyone who can do something about the problem
Sad.
in america the hungry and homeless are spread out in low densities, and continue to scrape by more or less.
In Haiti, the scope of the Earthquake means there’d be a few million less Haitians within a few weeks.
If it makes you feel better, many news reports indicate the U.S. is doing an even worse job in Haiti than they did in our own Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina.
I totally agree with your post and pov because there are so many issues going on here in the US of A, so sad and sorry for those people in Haiti just as for those in Bangkok or anywhere else tragedy happens. We need to take care of our own first, all last year people could’nt stop talking about how bad our ecomnomy was now this yr there is so much money to send the people of another country t help….go figure right. Nice blog and come by to check us ou sometime.
I feel the same way you do Lee. While I do feel sorry for the Haitians with their losses, America has many problems as well. People are losing jobs, families are going hungry, and schools are shutting down left & right. We need help as well. Talking to a sky daddy isn’t going to solve problems actions will. Great blog by the way. Take care Lee.
