You must be using mods and stuff which got your game corrupted. I suggest you backup your savedata and do a reinstall of the game.
Who?
So I installed my world adventures expansion pack adn it seemed like the downloading was doing fine. Once it finished, I went to open its launcher but it opened the late night expansion pack launcher. So when I clicked play it said something like “Please insert Sims 3 Late Night expansion pack disk” or something. Then it says process could not be started. I think there are other people that mentioned something similar here, but I’m kind of upset that I spent 30 bucks on a game that won’t even start! Does anybody know what I should do? :/

Run TS3 Late Night . It’ll still have World Adventures installed with all of the perks and what not, it just needs TS3 Late Night to play because Late Night is the latest expansion pack in TS3 (:
i know cheats this is real good if you wanna do cool stuff hold down ctrl shift c all at the same time then it will pause after that type in testingcheatsenabled true. make sure it has the space that i typed then shift click on things to check out awsome stuff!!! even the mail box!!!.
if your low on money do the control shift c thing then type motherlode and keep doing it.!!!
the final cheat is to do the control shift c then type moveobjects on. and with that you can move everything even sims!!!

My family went to France, then they returned. I quit my game because I was doing other stuff, and when I returned I made a new sim for the town. When I zoomed in on the clothes, they were all blurry and wierd. I quit CAS, and then went on my original family. There were really wierd blobby things especially around the stairs. So all the houses in town had blobs over them. The Central Park was the worse. I couldn’t see anything. If anyone has a solution, can you please tell me because I don’t know what to do. I really love the sims 3, but I can’t play properly because it is so distrating. I’ve been to China and Egypt, but this has only happened when I went to France.

I have the Problem with my map that goes blue blocks (•Basement update [Patch v1.7/2.2] causes map to have large blue blocks where lots are supposed to be. )

THIS HAPPENED WITH THE ANDREWS FAMILY (SUNSET VALLY) AND THE RICH GIRL NAMED SOPHIA (TWINBROOK)
so. i go to china, right it works fine. then i go home, stay in that town for a few days, and go to france. Then as soon as it loads up my sims plumbob is halfway into the ground, and they are not appearing! so i go home SAME THING! with my andrews family i dont save it (back to the point this never happened) and saved it (sofia) so, i go to the main menu! IT SHOWS THE HOME, BUT IT DOESNT SHOW THE FREAKIN FAMILY! what it shows is the create a family icon (a sillhoutte dad, and a sillhoute mom holding a sillhoute baby! i click on the family and guess what? ITS A GOD DAMN GHOST TOWN!! IT WONT EVEN SHOW THE HUD ANYMORE AND I CANT DO ANYTHING! PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!I have Sims 3 World Adventures, and I’m trying to complete an oppurtunity by infiltrating Morcucorp in Egypt. But, Morcucorp isnt anywhere on the map!!! I don’t know if this is a glitch or if I ‘m just stupid??!?!?
I installed the sims 3 a few months ago, i decided to download the expansion pack, world adventures. I installed it with no errors and there is a world adventures icon on my desktop however when i click the icon i takes me to the usual sims 3 startup screen where you need to click play. However the game stays the same as if i have not installed world adventures. How do i get my sims 3 to pick up that world adventures has been installed?
Can someone please help me, I installed the sims 3 a while ago and i decided to download the world adventures expansion pack. After i downloaded it i installed it with no errors. The world adventures icon is on my desktop and when i click on it it takes me to the sims 3 start up menu i click to play but nothing has changed. There is nothing about the world adventures, its just the normal sims game. How do i get the world adventures to come up in my sims game?
I have the Sims 3 world adventures, my husband has gone invisible one day out of the blue, I can still play his character but I can’t see him. I tried going to edit his clothes hoping he would show up and didn’t and i sent him to China, were he currently is and he is still invisible. This is not the first time it has happened to one of my families, so the other family i just deleted.
Ok, so I have the Sims 3 and the World Adventures downloaded, and I also have Sims 2 Double Deluxe. I exited my game one day and when I got home that night I tried to go on but it just gave me a message saying “Error. Your Sims 3 Base Game is incompatible with the current expansion pack. Please update your game via the game launcher.” so when i press OK it shows the game launcher but it won’t finish loading. The big box where it shows what you’ve downloaded and like the exchange and store thing in the lower corner is just blank, and then when I put the mouse in the box it just shows me the loading symbol. And hen I also scroll over the update button, downloads button, ect. it shows the loading symbol again. So now I can’t update my game and my game launcher is broken. I have an HP computer with Windows Vista. Please help, I can’t wait much longer. Thanks!
My computer got a viruse and the samething happened, my dad had to whipe out my computer it worked ok after that, but the sims 3 world adventures turns off by itself after that but thats just my stupid stupid computer i bet its because my dad put the ea downloder in the recyling bin >:<(plus after the sims 3 works you'll forget about the sims 2)Hope that helped!
I am having so many problems. I installed the World Adventures expansion pack and went to make a new family. After I did all of the physical trait stuff I went to pick thier favorites and I can’t pick any of thier favorites they are stuck on the same ones every time I try to make a new sim, but whatever I decided that I could live with that. Then after I made a mom and a dad I wanted to make a child and when I clicked on the button to combine thier genes the screen wouldn’t progress and the child wouldn’t be made. I ended up having to exit out of the game. After that I decided to just use an existing family and as soon as I entered that family I went to send them on vacation. I picked the location and the sim had her suitcase and walked to the curb then she was teleported back inside and the suitcase disapeared. I’m also having the problem with not being able to grocery shop, use the fridge or oven, and when I try to order a pizza it never comes. I uninstalled World Adventures and reinstalled and I had the same problems, then I uninstalled both the original and World Adventures and reinstalled them and still had those problems. Now I have uninstalled all of my custom content, and only the original Sims 3 is installed and I still have all of these same problems. I also have installed all updates. Please Help!!
I had updated my sims 3 i have sims3 worldtraveler and home loft and it ran okay but since the update last week i can’t download anything i purchase from the store with my simspoints i have all this stuff i purchased and i can’t download it i click download and it goes to launcher and nothing downloads

if your system is 64 bit use mozilla to download or the origional internet explorer you will find it in your programs. game is not compatable with internet explorred 64 bit.
I am trying to move two of my family members out of the house, but after I confirm where I want the two sims to move to, it freezes up. I then have to force quit the game. Can you help me?
You can’t go to edit town mode and evict them and move them to the house you want them to move to?
well i don’t want to move the whole family, I just want to move 2 sims out.
Split them up…there’s an option for that as well.
Henry, I had the same problem with trying to move two sims out of the house and into a new house. I even tried entering the edit town mode and splitting them up. It just freezes up.
Hi, I wanna ask a question.
First time when I start to play the game, I can take my sims to travel to China. But now, when I try another sim, I can travel too, but when I reach the location, there are no sims, portrait, and just like no ones there. But there are foreign sims, but of course I can’t play, because my sims is not in there.
I have tried with one sim, or with more than one. But the result is just disappointed.
Can some one help me?

I have the same problem although sim can do stuff but none of his body is there including head and feet. It just started after I went to Egypt.
This is way helpful. This really sucks to see all the bugs. I wanted to call tech support…but it is Sat morning and they won’t be open till Monday, yet the game just came out! ((each time i try to play on either riverview or the other town, the whole game would dissapear and go back to my desktop)) –trying now to just make new town

When I go on vacation or leave my town, when returning all the other populated lots and public areas become empty Glitching holes that look like “out of map” areas. I can’t permanently fix this. I save my family with my house to the library then start a town over, which works; except that all the opportunities and events that I couldn’t do, can’t be done because they reset with the move to the library. It’s very annoying…

I have this problem. I select a person to travel (usually France, cause I’ve only been there once.) I was on my main girl and I went there. It took forever to load, like it always did when I traveled. But when I got there, she didn’t show up. Her mood bar was a light blue, I couldn’t look at her Wants, or anything with that panel. No other person would show up, it was like France was a ghost town. This has gone on for a while, even before I got ‘High End Loft’, but it was a little different. I could go there, and I could control my girl, but when I sent her to some place, she get there, and automatically get teleported back to base camp. I couldn’t do anything at base camp either, cause she would freeze.
P.S. My computer refuses to download patch notes. . .

Umm, I’m pretty sure that’s not a bug. The items go into your FAMILY INVENTORY (Buy mode) and not your Sims inventory. That’s why it’s only ‘Buy Mode’ stuff not showing =>.<=
Um, well ‘Kitty’…sometimes they aren’t in there either. So maybe you should take that into consideration before you go off on people telling them what is or isn’t. I wouldn’t put it up if it wasn’t a bug.

Hi there! I sent my family to Simla, China and I saved and excited upon arrival. Now when I enter the game, no one is there. Period. No images, no sims, no wants or moodlets. It says I cannot edit my town while on Vacation, so I cant swap families to try and edit them from outside. I also cant return from vacation. They are third generation…
Another game altogether I created I was only the sixth or sevent generation, and all of a sudden I could no longer see their family tree when I clicked on it to view.
Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix them?
Can I somehow (and how?) resort back to a previous save?

This exact same thing happened to vme and this was a sim i put alot of effort into, he went to china but there he dispappeared, no trace, and i cant even go back to the regular world, the only lace i can play in now is china

My sim went to Egypt and got engaged to a local man. When she invited him to her home back in the city, their relationship was gone. She had to re-meet him, and now there is no option for “going steady”. She went back to Egypt, but they were no longer engaged.
I don’t have a clue what caused that but its possible EA didn’t write the expansion pack correctly and the patches and updates made it worse.

I got really stuck on my problem. I installed World Adventures without any problems, I click on shortcut, It normally loads, but when I click on my family, and it starts loading , a game just turns off. I really don’t know what to do.

You only have one 1 GB of RAM….that is a problem and could be your main problem. You basically need a better computer with more …a lot more ram and space to play this game. Also if you don’t have the power to run a game, loading a game can make the game crash as well because you’re making the computer work harder due to the fact its trying to run a game that requires a lot of power and resources.
But The Sims 3 runs perfectly .
And I had all The Sims 2 parts, there were 8, I think, and game had never crashed.:S
P.S. and it’s always crashing in the same place . :S
Its your computer…If you can, install it on a different computer and see if it works.
Yea well World Adventures is different than Sims 2. If anything I’m surprised you can run ANYTHING game wise on a computer that only have 1 GB of RAM…that’s unheard of.

I’m having a bit of a problem & I need a little help.
I’ve had the Sims 3 & the Sims 3 World Adventures for quite a while. The only other glitch I encountered before today was that since I was in the middle of traveling when my teenager was caught by police, he disappeared, but whatever.
NOW I just had my sim marry a French guy. They’re still on vacation in France for another 2 days and I’m able to play with the French husband, but there’s a problem with him. Instead of his picture in the screen, his wife’s picture is there, along with her moodlets, needs, and lifetime wish. Everything else is there, including his wants, adventures, challenges, skills, work, etc. Also, the icon that shows what that sim is doing only shows what the girl is doing, but not what her husband is doing, even when I have selected him.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? I mean, I can still play with him but it’s quite annoying to not know what he needs. Perhaps when I go home the whole problem will fix itself? I have no clue. Please help!!
Try going home first but that type of glitch will only be fixed with a patch. Lets just hope that patch don’t make the other patches worse.
i had my sims3 game since august and everything was working fine, in febuary i bought the expansion pack and it was also working okay, but then one day when i wanted to play my game it said that it couldn’t be load because it was saved with an expansion pack that is no longer present in the system. the problem is that i haven,t deleted or uninstall the expansion from the system.
What OS are you running it on?
My glitch is that when sims go into swimming pools, they disappear, and that in one of my games, all of the tombs are visible from the first room, but you can’t go in the other rooms. It’s really annoying!
This is totally unbelievable… I just installed Sims 3 and spent 1,5 hours updating the game with patches and also installed World Adventures.
When I started the game, I had no problem creating a sim and buying a house. However, when I began playing, my Sim had a wish to join the Law Enforcement career and I ordered her to go join it. THIS IS THE FUN PART: She wouldn’t leave the house; she walked to the edge of the home lot and then teleported back into the room. I tried this several times.
Then I ordered her to walk away and to the building; when she had ran close to it, she finally agreed to enter and join. After that I had her go to the park and learn fishing. Now, after that I sent her to the store and she couldn’t buy any groceries except for fish and misc stuff.
Also, she is not able to cook or use the fridge and stove AT ALL.
Woooo! Nice gamebreaking bug right off the bat :S and I have no idea what to do… should I uninstall World Adventures and try with the base game?
Yes, uninstall World Adventures and see how that turn out. You may have to uninstall then reinstall The Sims 3 as well.
Argh… I uninstalled everything, reinstalled base game and updates up to 1.11. I tried again with just a random character, and I had the same problems. Will teleport back to house if I order to go somewhere via map mode, or even click on a location far away; will not call taxi. The oven is un-interactable and I can “open” the fridge. Yay.
I seriously have no idea what I should do. I’ve played this game before, but I borked something up while updating, then scrapped it and uninstalled (the game was still at 1.8 or something at that time). Augh…
I play the game just fine without the updates. It could be the updates.
I’m experiencing a “return home” CTD when returning from Egypt. I went to Egypt a number of times before with my Sim and came back without any issues, now all of a sudden I can’t return.
Do you have testingcheatsenabled on? If so, try disabling it by typing “testingcheatsenabled false”.

also, a long time ago, if you have the glitch where you’re teaching a toddler how to talk and when your done the toddler and theparent freeze, i figured out you have to pull up the cheat bar and type in resetsim adn they will be back tonormal.
however,this does not work for if ur sim is always down a floor like mine are now)):<
grrrrrrrrr a lot of my sims all of a sudden do that thing where i cant find them so i click on their pictures and it shows me an invisible sim. i go down a floor, and there they are, complaining that they can’t go anywhere. its dvestating me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )):<
wow, I guess I should be grateful I didn’t get all those other bugs! Mine is slightly different; I sent most (but not all) of my family to China, and when they came back, I can’t play the sims that I left behind in Riverview. I can only play with the ones I took to China. The sims I left behind are still in the house, but they can no longer interact with the rest of the family. I guess I should be grateful I got back from vacation at all…

i have a similar problem, i sent my sims to egypt only my sims stayed at home and i went to egypt, i cant get home at all, it is just an un-ending vacation, it is hell… plz help before my pc goes out the window…PLZ!!!!!!
found that if you follow steps correctly u will not need awesomemod or supercomputer, just ignore * once there “shift+Ctrl” click on someone in the family you want active and search through all the options of the pie menu until you find “select sim” or “select” or somin like that and click it then you will have that family active!!

Two Glitches I’ve had not on your list:
1- I had a Guitar “stuck” to my Sim for quite a while, until one day, it went away.
2- I am unable to return from vacation in China! Instead, one of my Sims came back to China when the rest were supposed to be going back home. Don’t know if I can fix this one yet. I have more Sims that were left at the home location, but don’t know if I can get back there.

I finally got the game up and running, and so far no glitches (i wiped my pc recently and restored it to factory settings). hopefully from now on, it stays that way, and doesn’t return to the glitchy version i had before xP

It wont let me propose going steady or get married or anything, it will let me ask some1 to move in with me, but doesnt give me the option to propose :S

Sometimes it depend on the traits your Sims have.
I just recently came back from Egypt, where everything was fine. Once i got home, everyone is stuck underground. The only way I know they’re there is the “thought bubbles” that appear on the grass. My active family (a man and a women) are the only ones who are normal. I cannot interact with the other sims, obviously, because they are stuck underground. i dont know what to do, ive tried restarting and moving my household, but nothing is working.
same deal with me except it happened after the second trip from egypt. everyone is underground and i see items they’re carrying half under and half above. it’s annoying. hopefully they’ll be another patch released or at least a workaround of some sort.

This is because any large object you buy while vacationing end up in your family inventory, not your basic inventory. I found all my lost purchase by accident that way!
@Kendra… That got me for a while too until I realised those things (the very big things) are placed in the family inventory (in buy mode I think) and not in the SIM inventory. The smaller stuff like books will appear in the SIM inventory.

Well I’ve been playing the game for 5 days now. I encountered a few glitches of course, none of them are really that serious.
Recently I was playing & I decided to travel to France (I previously went to all locations.) When I arrived, my sim vanished. I’m all left with just a map of France. with no Sims to play with. Luckily I saved the game just before I traveled. I tried everything from deleting recently bought objects to modifying traits, etc.. & nothing. Same glitch.
When I tried to travel with another Sim household, everything worked fine! So I realized the problem is with the 1st Sim. But what the hell might be that problem? I tried everything I can!
My Sims 3 World Adventures had been working fine ever since I got it when it came out. Well yesterday, I loaded my game and continued in a tomb in Egypt that I left off last time I saved and exited my game. I only have like a 1/2 hour left on my trip. Whether I wait until it says my trip is over or use my cell phone to “return home”, my game crashes suddenly during the load screen with the green progress bar. It won’t let me travel home, it just keeps crashing! I tried restarting my computer and the game, I tried switching to “high performance” on my laptop’s power settings, I tried removing some of my downloaded stuff (although it has worked fine with all my downloads), I tried switching off of fullscreen, I tried running it as administrator….I’m out of ideas. Anyone else with this problem??
I have the same problem. I used to travel to China for a few times, but the last time I went there and I decided to go home, called “return home” and when the game begins to loading, saying “traveling home”, it just crashes-to-desktop. I’ve tried removing cache files, restarting (both game and PC), yet the problem remains. I can load my sim on a vacation house, yet I can’t travel home. Help would be highly appreciated.

I actually have something similar, not the same problem. Every time I go on vacation and I return home, my inventory, skills, etc. resets to before the vacation. It’s as if I didn’t play the game at all.

My proble is: after i installed the expencion pack, my sims cant interact with lots off objects, like: my toddlers wanna play with the doll house , they go to it then *poff* they are transported away from it. Same goes for the adolts. happens to almost everything. My sim wanted to teach the toddler to walk, he picked up the kid then *poff* they where away from eachother. Iv updated the game, but didnt help. Any idea how to fix this?
I have no idea what is causing this. These errors and glitches this game and patches has caused have left me confused. Its only going to get worse now that the second expansion pack is soon to be released.
My first family I created with the World Adventures pack was doing just fine. There were a few bugs, but they weren’t anything too big until I started traveling to different places.
My woman would go to any location and arrive with a broken heart. Looking on the family tree all of a sudden there would be a new random kid (who was an adult age or teenager). Then my female would have a different last name.
Now I have over eight kids….and it’s really starting to get annoying!!

Its the patches that EA made, its nothing much anyone can really do until they fix them.
- When i first played world advetures, my family of three (mom, dad, child daughter) went to china. since im so paranoid that my game might freeze (when i had the sims 2, my lady was about to give birth, and i decided to take a pic of her screaming bloody mercy lol, and it froze. i had to go back all the way to when she first met her husband and got married and pregnant)
so i saved the game while they were in china. later it wouldnt let me save so i had to close the program, and when i came back, i was in china and nobody was playable. later whn i finally got back to sunset valley, all the family members of my family in china were crying that the family of three were all dead, but it still showed their pictures in the realationship column.
-i dont know why, but for some reason the game will now NOT let me remove garbage such as newspapers and stuff out of my sms’ inventory. it lets me take out other things out of their inventory, but not garbage. one of my sims is in the law enforcement career, and instead of becoming friends with all these people so i can question them for reports, i just have him rummage thru their garbage. now he has all these garbage piles, bubble bath, candles, and ducksworth of bathingtons in his inventorym, and he keeps getting the “disguted” moodlet because of the garbage in his inventory, but it wont let me get rid of any of it!!!! since he was pretty happy cuz he was family oriented and they had lots of kids when he wanted to, he had a lot of reward points, so i got him the moodlet manager, but its still so aggrivating that he has all that junk in his inventory that wont come out!!!
-Speaking of the guy with all of the garbage, idk if this is a glitch or what, but the guys wife was soooo pretty for being a sim, and i wanted her to have at LEAST two daughters so i could name them Lauryn and Sophia, becuz only SHE looked like the mother of a Lauryn and a Sophia.
She had a son first.
so i was like okay, whatever.
she had another son.
i got her pregnant for the third time, and for sure thought she would have a girl this tme.
she had twin boys.
i tried again, getting aggrivated.
she had ANOTHER set of twin boys.
so, convinced that the husband and wife could NOT make girls together, i gave up.
and had to deal with her SIX sons.
-one fo my families, (husband, wife, three kids) would not show their family trees. no matter what. so one of the daughters had a baby, and i clicked on HER family tree, and it was so JACKED UP. it said the three daughters were all stepsisters, even tho they were full sisters, and it said that they all had these weird husbands and kids from like, china.
-the daughter that had her kids first, could net together with this guy. i made them have thier first kid and stuff, and then she got pregnant. it would not let them propse going steady or marriage, so i figured maybe it was becuz she was pregnant. so she had her first baby, but it still wouldnt let her and the guy gosteady or anything, so i just made her getpregnant with her secondchild and then i killed the guy lmao.
- i dontthinkits a glitch, bui just got so mad, becuz the sister that wouldnt gosteady,had two daughters and i had wanted her to have two boys. her sister, the one that could not produce girls, had six sons, and i wanted soooo badly for her to have girls!!! >:(

I went to do the burning sands fruit mission and I used the burning sands keystone. My vacation ended while I was in the tomb and now when I go back to do the mission, it says the doors locked and I have to use the keystone. (Which I don’t have anymore!) I tried skeleton keys, they don’t work and I tried restarting the adventure. Do you know how I can fix this?
Try using a different family and do the same thing you’ve been doing and see if that work.
After my sims are done with their vacation, when they go back home, all the information from the vacation is lost. Their visa level is back at one, and all the items that were in the inventory during the vacation are gone, and the only ones left are the ones that were from prior to the vacation…
My issue is with the treasure box that my sims brought back from their trip to france. I tried to fill it with gems, but couldn’t drag the gems from the inventory properly, then couldn’t unselect the gems and leave them in the inventory, ended up leaving them on the floor but had a lot of trouble getting just that done. Same thing happened with the grapes and wine maker
irritating!
Lately, all my sims with unfulfilled life time opportunity works well in any world adventure destination. But I have this main sim whom I fulfilled the life time wish of a rockstar but whenever he goes to a W.A. destination, his bar on the bottom doesn’t appear (the blue bar with the status, needs, life time wish, moodlet etc.) … it’s just blank. And it doesn’t have any queue. But he can move around. I can not cancel cause there’s no queue. I can’t also switch household cos his bar below is BLANK…
But when I play a different sim or family without a fulfilled life time wish, the bar below shows up & works properly.
does this happen to any of you??

You might have to save a copy of that Sim and delete the regular one and see if that works. This is the first time I read about this error.
My game tends to freeze up. I have this one family – probably my best family, I am currently playing as the grandchildren of my original characters – that went to France and I saved while they were in France. Now whenever I try to go back and play that family, I might manage to play for a few minutes, but then The Sims 3 will just disappear and won’t appear anywhere, the window has been closed. I once tried to send my Sims back home early as to possibly escape the problem, but I wasn’t fast enough and the window disappeared again. I REALLY don’t want to delete this game as it’s my best game, but I fear I might have to.
Also, a weird thing occurred once – I sent my Sim to China for I believe the third time (her lifetime wish is to master Martial Arts) and when she arrived, she suddenly had the “Heartbroken” moodlet caused by witnessing a death, her last name had been changed, she suddenly had a child-age daughter that lived in China with that same last name, despite the fact that she hadn’t witnessed a death and she was even still a virgin.
Just few of the many errors of poorly written patches/updates.
My problem is that,I can’t move!!I can rotate and zoom in and out,but the only way I can get anywhere is when I have my charater actually move to that spot or near it.Totally stumped. Any advice??
Have you used or even tried the reset sim cheat?
I have two sims that were created at the same time and setup as married. Since installing both adventures and high loft expansion pack it just shows them as romantic interest and no matter what interactions Romantic orotherwise i put them through it will not allow them to get married once again. I don’t want to have to move one out and test if they can then get engaged then married because they have children and lots of other things invested and I have a fear that moving one out will cause some other issue to arrive since this game is so buggy. Any suggestions????
Sorry to break this to you but its a very high probability that its the updates/patches, from both expansion and stuff pack. Its not much that I can tell you because those are issues EA caused with the patches they poorly wrote.
