me again,
i tried uninstalling it, but it wont allow me to. It keeps saying that i cannot uninstall it while i am running programs associated with ts3 world adventures — but im not!!
got anymore magic u can loan me?

Have you tried restarting your computer then trying to uninstall the game?
I have a problem where my sim, while in Egypt, goes downstairs in any of the tombs and can’t do anything. I can move around upstairs just fine, but when I go downstairs, the only thing I can do is to go back upstairs. It’s so frustrating! It doesn’t even say “no interactions available”, I just CAN’T click on anything. I can only click the stairs.
Its the patches.
I guess it’s similar to the known disappearing sim on vacation problem.
I sent a family on vacation and one got stuck at the Sphinx with one foot on and one foot off the lot. She couldn’t move except to eat. So I had the family end the vacation early, but now when I tried to go back to that travel lot, no sim appears, the camera skips the opening video going straight to the Sphinx and I’m in edit town mode. I also can’t have them travel anywhere else, the loading screen is endless.
Wow, that’s weird.
i found out that if you get there and the sim doesnt appear, you can go to edit town, go to sunset valley, and then hit teturn to game and it brings you back and the sim is there.
Well that may work but not for everyone.
ts3 worked fine for me, until i installed world adventures. just as you described above, each time i try and save, i encounter a mysterious “error 16″ and it wont allow me to save. also, when i sent a family to france, they never arrived. the game refused to let me leave france, so there i was trapped in france without my sims. i inevitably gave up and shut down my computer.

The only advice I could give you is to try and reinstall both games but don’t update it, if that is possible. Other than that, there’s nothing more that can be done because the patch for the ‘error 16′ error doesn’t seem to work sadly. Which leads me to my next point, the reason to all of these problems is because of the patches. Its not you, or your computer its the poorly written and distributed patches that EA threw out. I wish I could be more of help but until EA can get off their butts and make a decent, working, error-free patch, there’s nothing that can be done.
Oh yea, the ‘error 16 error’ can be triggered by mods as well. If you have mods installed, remove them.
I don’t have any mods. And what is a patch?? i dont know much about this kind of stuff.

So I’ve been running WA with absolutely no problems for about three weeks. I recently went out and bought the new HEL expansion pack and the game plays smoothly (with the exception of saving taking a god awful amount of time), but I can no longer travel. My sim can plan the vacation and she even makes it to the destination but then everything freezes up. The water is moving and the shadows of the trees are moving but I can’t click anything, I can’t speed up or slow down time, and I have to minimize the screen and end the task through task manager (though even that says the game is still running). I have more than enough memory and space on the computer so I’m stumped as to why this is happening. Help??
Do you have other programs running while you’re playing The Sims? Have you done a De-fragmentation lately? See if cleaning up your computer helps this problem.
My game has been loading for 25 minutes, maybe more, while my sim is “traveling to Champs Les Sims, France.” It has very little time left to load (as shown on the green bar) but has been stuck there FOREVER! The game hasn’t froze, the little icon on the mouse that shows it’s loading still moves and tips keep popping up. this is starting to make me angry
Well its probably your computer.
My sim met and married a foreigner. She moved onto the lot and everything was fine. My sim went abroad again and when he returned to his family, none of the family were playable. The icons to the left didn’t show any of my sim’s family’s faces. They appeared to be invisible when moving around the house though I could still see their thoughts and speech bubbles if they interacted.
Eventually I moved my sim out of the house and he moved in with his friend and her family. I can now control that family but random families in the town have vanished. (They show up in the contacts menu as a green box, their faces have disappeared.)
If my sim throws a party, despite having completed all the social skills goals and having 25+ best friends and countless contacts, noone shows up.
Any ideas other than reinstalling the whole thing?!

Well the only option IS to uninstall then reinstall without [or try] to play the game with none of the updates and see if that helps. The issues you’re having is due to the programmers at EA with bad programming skills. They didn’t test the patches/updates before distributing them.
I have a weeeeeeeeeeird problem. i saved my game while i was on vaation in france with my character. when i tried to get back on the game today and clicked my character’s file, it sent me to editing Les Champes (France). when i clicked the go home button it said there was no base camp,although I know there is, and that i had to pick a base camp to return to the game. so i picked a place to become the base camp. when i did that it let me return to the game. when i did that, nothing showed up in the panels. no box on the side where my sim’s head is supposed to be, no nothing but the panels themselves. whats wrong? o.O
The patches sadly are the problem.
I recently bought world adventures and i am not having any problems with it but it does freeze up sometimes and i cannot get the game to close so as a result i have to shut my whole computer down. do you know what could be the problem
It could be your computer…do you have enough ram/memory?
I’ve had so many glitches and bugs with TS3 World Adventures that I uninstalled it and just played normal Sims 3. It was the right choice in my opinion, and I’m not going to reinstall it until EA has the great idea of fixing it (sarcasm there). The benefit of that is that all my glitches are now fixed

RE: Same problem… but with “masters” certificates from completing skills to level 10…
If you want to let the tent go, press the ‘esc’ key.
when I switch to change active household, my game freeze,
So, I compied a home from France and placed it in River Valley for my sims to live in.
I got the cash for the home and moved in yet it’s been a day and I still can’t build or travel or anything because it says I am still in the process of moving. I have tried editing town or something so i can keep playing elsewhere yet it won’t let me.
My Sims are totally controllable yet I cannot build!
Another problem is that when I’m trying to get Pangu’s Axe, it’s not there. I have checked everywhere in the temple of heaven, I have the whole tomb explored yet it nowhere to be found.

I had two female sims, two children, one male adult, and two babies (7 total). On vacation I took everyone but the bubs. I tried for a baby with a female and a local and sent the mother home, thinking she was useless and didn’t get pregnant. Later I saved it and later I had the other sims try for a baby. I actually ended up with nine sims living in my house, though i could no longer play my eldest sim and he no longer has a family tree.
This game is frustrating and EA isn’t exactly helpful when you try to contact them.
Once I downloaded the expansion,
1. out of my active household of three, only one sim can be controled and none of their pictures show up on the left side of the screen or in the active sim panel.
2. You can’t see any of his panels (i.e. wants, inventory)
3. his wife’s name changes (and a zero’d out relationship) everytime I go into the game.
4. Can’t use computers or telephones to even enjoy the expansion portion
5. When I try to change the active household, it just stays in a zoomed out view of the town.
6. When I try to create a new family, it stays on the loading page, but never loads.
Then I tried to download their patches… well that made the game launcher not work for a while until I decided to run as administrator.
Now, I’m waiting for some help from EA. It’s been over 48 hours and they say they’ll contact you within 24. My ass…
I understand your frustrations. Which is why I will wait later or even next year to buy any new editions for the game.
Tonight I just got an amazingly irratating bug!
When I’m in a tomb or something, I can’t click on anything!
I’m frustrated. I can click on things outside fine enough, but not IN the tombs. Why?
The patches and EA lack of thoroughness when it comes to making sure the patches work.
I have a problem when playing TS3 World Adventures! When I Travel to a place My Sim won’t appear, no interactions, sim panel won’t come up etc. I just cannot do anything at all…. What is going on? (BTW: I downloaded it off EA Download Manager)
I’m having a problem, my sim woman and her teenage son went to France yesterday, then I saved and exited out of the game halfway through their trip. Today I opened up the game and it went to the screen with the mom(she is sleeping in base camp) then i cilcked on the picture of the son to switch back to him(he’s sleeping in a tomb) and it EXTITED out of the game!!!! I’ve tried several times and each time it exits out of the whole sim game!!! What should I do??????????
You might have to uninstall WA’s.
i have the same blue squares where houses and community lots are. i can’t play the game because of that.
My sim can no longer “go steady” with anyone, I don’t understand whats wrong either. I went steady with two sims and since then haven’t been able to with any others. Can this be fixed? anyone else have this going on?
Do you have any ideas to what’s causing it? What did you do differently?
Have you heard of anyone having errors where their sims can’t interact with other sims any more? When I click on any other sim besides the one I’m using, I get a ‘no interactions available’ message. And when I try having a sim visit another house, they can ring the doorbell for hours, but no one ever answers.
And if I were to uninstall the World Adventures expansion, do you know if my game would work again?
Yes and yes…it probably will work again. Then again, it could be them new patches if you have them installed as well.
My sim needs 2 learn a foriegn recipe but the bookstores don’t carry the books that I need. I’ve traveled everywhere man I need help.
I just bought the sims 3 world adventures expansion pack and I couldn’t even create my own sim. As I was trying to create my sim they were all black, I couldn’t even see their face or hair, and the mirror behind them is all spazzed out and flickers. I was so irritated with having so many glitches that I decided to return the game and buy another one thinking it wouldn’t have any glitches or at least have a different glitch less major. I was very wrong, it had the very same glitches with the sims all black with no face or clothes or hair. I even tried playing a sim family that was already pre-made and only the female sims hair would dissapear, if i zoomed in her hair would dissapear. I also found this game frusturating because i played it on a brand new mac computer with lots of memory and speed and anytime i did anything it would load and load and load so long that i had to force quit the game because it would end up “not responding”. This game has way way too many glitches and I think that EA needs to recall every game off the shelves to keep any future customers from having the same frustration I had.
You really need to tell me what kind of graphics card you have because that is a graphical issue concerning your card, its not the game. & as far as the other issues and glitches, the patches are to blame mostly.
I love The Sims, but I’m very annoyed with the new expansion pack.
1. My game wouldn’t save at first (Saving Error 16), but I learned that if you click “Save As” and rename the game, then it will save.
2. Out of nowhere, my Sims no longer have a “free-will” even though the control is set to “high free-will”. They just stand around and do nothing until I finally choose something for them to do.
3. Another annoying thing is that people will freeze outside of the Sim’s house. The maid will not come inside, or the repairman, or any foreign visitors. They just freeze right next to the front door, until hours/days later, they will disappear.
4. My Sims can no longer paint or do homework, and the children don’t go inside of the school.
…I’m very disappointed in this game.
& Those problems are melt down to the patches EA said was supposed to fix the game.
Hi, I was so excited about Sims World Adventures and at first when I laded it everything was fine, but now….
1. My Sims won’t do anything that they are told and there is a huge timelag, so for example they seem paralysed and will wet themselves rather than go to the toliet.
2. After one Sim day the doors and windows on my houses disappear and I cannot see or control my family inside. They also lose the ability to function normally.
3. It is now impossible to merge families.
What on earth is going on with this game??
EA is testing to see how far their fans can be pushed before an all out war ensues. Honestly, I don’t know what EA is doing. I think they’re trying to patch the game without thinking about what those patches can do to the other patches before that. I think I’ll wait before I get ANY patches for The Sims 3.

Considering my blog is not related to this in anyway shape or form, I had new comments notified to me at my email address considering the fact that I play TS3. I tried to be nice and made an honest mistake. I”m not going to waste my time with this issue but I do hope you two have fun and continue to impress the world.

I am so annoyed with the sims 3 world adventures. I had been looking forward to it so much but have been left appalled at EA’s inability to properly test a game before it is released. Maybe less attention should be paid to unrealistic deadlines and more attention be focused on actually getting the game in a playable state.
Here are just a few problems:
1. Most annoying – inability to go steady/ engage/ marry again after divorcing first partner or first partner dies. This is just so so so frustrating as relationships are a huge part of the game.
2. A very close second, children and teens not going to school properly, they go but leave repeatedly which means you are forced to watch the school and keep sending them back in again but this negatively affects their grade and every time they are sent out they get more homework which means they have the late homework negative impact on their grade as well as it saying ’skipping school’. This in turn results in their growing up ‘badly’ and your not being able to choose their trait.
3. Strange aging of children born to foreign sims.
4. Foreign Sim loses nationality when married.
5. Some missions are not able to be completed due to objects not being reachable e.g. scarab beetles.
6. Food spoils almost instantly upon putting it in the fridge.
7. Sim washes up wine almost immediately after serving it.
There are more that i have not written and probably more that i have not yet come across but now constantly fear that i will.
This has completely ruined my game and i am so disappointed because if it wasn’t for the glaring faults with this game, it would be a brilliant expansion pack.
I initially had crashing issues with the base game, Sims 3, however I updated some of the drivers for my system and never had a problem after that.
I just recently installed the new expansion pack, however, and now every so often just about everything turns into blue blocks instead of the lots that they’re supposed to be. I have no neighbours, no school etc. I went to send my kid to school and it was like ‘there are no schools in this town.’
Frustrates me up the wall.
I’ve found the way to fix it without losing your current family is as follows:
* Go to Edit Town and select your family. Place a copy of the family, including house, into the Library.
* Go back to the Main Menu & delete current town.
* Create a new town.
* If the lot you were occupying has something in it, bulldoze it and then place a copy of your family back onto the lot. Set this as the active family.
Aside from irritating, the main problem with this is that any wants/etc that you had locked in for each of your Sims is no longer present; but I suppose you can live with it.
I can’t tell you how my game is. It takes over an hour to get into the family and the whole thing is so choppy and laggy you can’t even play. I too had the blue lots.
Does your computer meet the system requirements?
My game freezes up then shuts off randomly. Maybe I’m playing it too long? But that’s really the only glitch I’ve experienced. The key word I can never seem to remember:

Yea, I’ve done that so many times that it upsets me to the point that I don’t even want to play that family any more because of all the things I did within those 4-5 hours.
Is there any kind of fix for this issue? I’m running WA fine, but like you my game seems to freeze after long periods of time. If I’ve saved beforehand it’s not too much of a hassle, but if I haven’t it’s such a pain…
I completely know what you mean. But for me it hasn’t been doing it lately *knocks on wood* but I’ve been saving, literally, every fifteen minutes and I haven’t had that problem again (yet). It’s a hassle but it’s seeming to work for now.
I should of waited a year before even getting the sims 3! This game makes my sims disappear, they don’t allow me to buy things with the expansion pk. i can’t even get through the game without the lots on my map turning into blue blocks.
TS3 had potential…R.I.P TS3.
I’m rather disappointed in what EA has done to the Sims 3. I stopped playing it when the last patch did nothing but make my experience much worse than it was before.
I’m an admin around here and often times people comments that are too long or come off as spam are automatically deleted. Sorry for those who wonder where their comments went. Nothing I can do about that.

This happened to me but it turns out that it was in my family inventory in buy mode.
Have you tried going to build/buy mode and checking the family inventory?

Every time I go on holiday my sims don’t arrive, time is still going and it says vaction day 1 of 3 in the box but my sims never appear. It worked fine before so what has gone wrong?
Leah that’s exactly what happened to me. I have retryed it over and over again but it doesn’t work at all.
I would honestly just uninstall WA’s until they fix the bugs.

Having major problem with the flashing red from almost anything specific to this expansion. Also, after a few hours of gameplay, (mostly on autorun), my games starts skipping and freezing for a few moments to the point of pure annoyance. What is the point of an expansion where you can’t build with relatively anything from it because if you do, you get an annoying flashing and almost all of the trip locations are the same as well as your neighbors houses!

I’m having problems playing. I read on this site that you will get to the start up screen and it will start blinking. Mine does that but it does it during game play. I got the sims 3 and the world adventures last night hoping to be able to play. But with the blinking it does, it gives me a bad headache. Then when I do play it freezes my computer, I have 2gb of ram and it takes 1gb of ram to play. Could it be the graphics card or something else that is causing this.?!?

i decided to adopt a kid for my only person to see if the talking thing was limited to only npcs or family members as well. it extended to anybody
Ugh, i also have the ‘can’t talk to NPCs’ glitch. Along with that, there are also cars that are sitting outside my house that are empty and can’t be moved, and i can’t travel anymore because apparently “Edit Town is currently invalid”.
SO ANNOYING!! i regret getting world adventures now with all these glitches…
That’s why I will wait a year or two before I get any expansion packs.
When my Sim goes down to the basement she stands there at the bottom of the steps saying she cant move, I have to use the ‘moveobjects’ cheats to get her out.
I cant interact with any of the NPC Sims.
When she walks into the dining room/living room in her house she ends up back on top of the stairs like nothing happened.
And it takes about 10-30 minutes for each loading screen
my custom music got erased from my computer
Nothing has color for ten minutes after I’ve gotten past the loading screen (I timed it actually) it’s all white blobs.
And basically my sims are acting like retards…but they’re ALWAYS acting like retards right?
Indeed and it seems like the new patches are at fault for all the issues that you’re having.
One problem I have is that when I try to go back home from traveling, it either takes about 15-20 to load or it just crashes after 10 minutes. I’ve heard of that happening to other people as well. And when one of my sims recently got a boyfriend, she left to go to China and when she came back, its like she didn’t even know him. It said they didn’t have a high enough relationship status to even invite him over, and yet they were still dating.
The Sims 2 didn’t have this many issues.
Hi.Thx! Finally i recognise the problem i’m having with the sims 3 world adventures : Basement update [Patch v1.7/2.2] causes map to have large blue blocks where lots are supposed to be.
But how can i solve this problem ?
And an other problem i have is; If my Sim paints some pictures or takes a photo and when i restart the sims 3,the pictures and photo’s are brown :S

same problem than ultrapeach. The only interaction I can use is the mean interaction. Really, theres no way playing the sims without personal interactions
For the Tent problem, Press escape… I didnt figured it out that quick even tho its so simple. Press escape.

As for the one glitch which involves buying martial arts training supplies, nectar maker, and fortune cookie maker, it will not show up in your Sim’s personal inventory because it is too large. Go back to your Sim’s home, and try looking in the family inventory in the Buy Mode. It should be in there (that’s how mine work). I thought the same thing when I bought the martial arts training equipment, but when I bought the nectar maker, I saw something that said, “This is now in your family inventory” or something like that. Try looking there, instead.
Some have done that and its not there either.
