Once again as I have said before back around June of this year, The Sims 3 World Adventures Expansion Pack has been like a game of Russian Roulette with some if not most gamers. Here is another list of bugs and errors that has been plaguing The Sims 3 and now the expansion pack:
- Error code 16 causing people to have to close their game after trying to save numerous times. Causing the gamer to open it back up to find that there is no playable Sim.
- Basement update [Patch v1.7/2.2] causes map to have large blue blocks where lots are supposed to be.
- Expansion Pack causes Sunset Valley and or Riverview to be unplayable.
- Sims are still disappearing.
- An option to” save” or “save as” is no longer an option.
- I can no longer switch active households with the current family I’m playing. I found this out because I was trying to switch to my Sims family lot to see if one of them could move their father’s tombstone to the ground. When I try to switch, all I get is a view of the neighborhood without any options.”
- Food spoiling almost immediately.
- When I go to place a tent, if there isn’t anyplace to put it down, I can’t let it go, it just stays there waiting to be placed; can’t even stick it back in my inventory.
- Can’t take photo of Town Theatre.
- Painting skill restarts every time gamer returns to work on a painting in progress.
- Babies don’t sleep until they’re near exhaustion.
- The relationship bar isn’t progressing between parents and baby, no matter how many times they chat.
- I noticed whenever one of my characters has both gardening and fishing skills eventually they cannot fish or use the grocery store. They can still fish or shop on vacation.
- While I was in China with a male Sim, he flirted and had a ‘first kiss’ with one of the local ladies. When he got home he had a son in his family tree. It’s not a baby. Its a full grown child.
- The most annoying bug I get is the inability to talk to anyone. All relationships are lost in the friends panel, and no one is friendly anymore. I created a new SIM, and have not allowed him to talk to anyone in Sunset. So far he hasn’t lost his foreign friends yet.
- My Sim has level 10 in handiness. After performing an upgrade [to only good fortune] on the fortune cookie machine, the skill journal for handiness goes blank and is not selectable. I’ve tried upgrades on other stuff and there is no issue.
- Sims ages reset when using the dresser and/or mirror.
- Tombs don’t reset for new Sims.
- Cannot complete the quest after finding Pangu’s Axe, when it says “deliver item” although the girl “Lin” is there I cannot deliver it to her. When I click deliver item the square in the queue comes up with no face it is blank and it clicks off. Although I will go back to China to try again.
- Can no longer switch Active Households.
- Empty random cars parked on the road that cannot be removed.
- Completing opportunities is not an option.
- After coming back from a trip, all the Sims seem to be rearranged.
- Marrying foreigners does not become a part of the family and you cannot control them.
- Sims “washes away” wine almost immediately after being served.
- Basement tool doesn’t work in existing houses that have pools even if the gamer remove the pool. It crashes to desktop.
- Pagoda roof styles don’t work properly in my build mode. If the gamer remove the any existing roofs and use auto on with a Pagoda roof style the roof vanishes. If the gamer turn roofs auto off and use another style before the pagoda it ignores the pagoda style change. If the gamer remove any existing roofs and use auto off with a Pagoda roof style it works.
- Sim travels to other lands; the pictures of her friends and family all revert back an age.
- When I send my Sims on vacation, nobody arrives in the foreign country; no portraits, no sign of life, no nothing. I can’t even get back, because there’s nobody there to have a vacation, so the ‘vacation’ never ends.
- Sim has a blank portrait when returning from vacation, it lists the Sim’s name but the Sim’s portrait is just a green square. Still listed in household but can’t find Sim anywhere or control him.
- Wife Sim no longer can interact with any other Sims and they act like shes not there. She can only use the mean interaction on them.
- Can’t feed or look after baby. Because of this all bars red, social worker comes but he just stands outside 24/7.
- Can no longer sleep no matter how tired or how many times I send her to bed she just gets up again and is always exhausted and miserable.
- Car no longer picks Sim up for work and Sim can’t go to work as it’s sort of like the Sim doesn’t exist, even though the gamer can move the Sim around and take Sim to libraries etc.
- Can no longer collect mail from letter box even when it has the mail icon over it.
- When I buy things like the martial arts training stuff it won’t show up in my inventory but books and food and such does. It’s just the stuff like the training dummy, the nectar maker, fortune cookie press, etc.
- Sim Children go off to school, they never actually make it into the school. They all just stand outside the front door and appear like they intend to go in, but they just stand there for the whole school day, looking stupid. It says they are skipping school when I go to their job education tab, but they aren’t! They just can’t get in! And It’s not just my Sims. All the neighborhood Sim kids are standing out front looking dumb too.
- For an opportunity, my Sim needs to learn a recipe from Egypt, but the bookstore merchant never shows up. On a trip to France, the same Sim was supposed to deliver a bottle of nectar and the receiving Sim disappeared off the map.
- Shortly after I installed World Adventures, when I clicked on the Family Tree button for my legacy family, nothing happened. Upon further investigation the, Aunts/Uncles/Cousins Family Icons no longer showed up in the friend listing. (Father/Mother/Brother/Sister still did) This poses a problem, since family members could potentially now flirt with one another…yuck. When I married in a new townie, his family tree DID pop up (however, it only included him and his wife, who was my previous character, and when I clicked on her picture, the Family Tree went blank).
- When I travel to China, the General Store Merchant and the Food Merchant are NEVER there. The Book Merchant and Relic Merchant are always there during the daytime, but when I try to click on the other registers, it just always says Store Closed.
- My Sims can’t travel anywhere i select a location it takes forever to load and then no one arrives its been working fine for ages now all of a sudden its broke and nothings changed I haven’t done anything different I don’t get it.
- I had a bug where world adventures just randomly uninstalled by itself, but in documents it said I still had the families I created when I got it, in game and they were in the family bar.
- Sent my Sim to bed on the second story. I go up a floor…. and the bed shows an invisible person sleeping in it. I went down a floor, and shes floating in mid-air directly under the bed.
- World Adventures won’t play or download.
- People are having twin Sims when they come back from vacation.

I have Ambitions and World Adventures, and world adventures, whenever I travel, I get to a destination, and my sim is not there, at all, and it’s not in the bottom left, and I can’t do ANYTHING, it’s confusing, because I’m not that much of a computer whiz, I just enjoy the game, it’s not a crack, and I’ve tried looking through a bunch of technical support stuff, and still coming up trumps, anyone have any clues?

My sim leveled up twice in a row on the martial arts skill – now her only outfit available is a headless martial arts one. Resetsim does not do anything… : (

Hi to all. i also played sims 3 with complete expansions up to pets and complete stuffs up to town life, but i stopped playing because i cant stand the annoying bugs; like traveling into egypt, progress bar loads completely but the problem is no sim is visible or controllable in my screen, cant go back in my town and the only option that is left for me is to quit my game without saving it.
So, I figured out the solution and that is QUIT PLAYING SIMS FOREVER cause ea SUCKS.
So if i were you, stop playing SIMS. EA is laughing at you now because you are all gullible, Playing a fake social game.

But before you stopped, you were one of the “gullible” sims players that were supposedly laughed at by EA. I’m sure everyone who plays this realizes that it’s a “fake social game”. I know you’re frustrated but you don’t have to lash out like that. It’s totally unnecessary.

I had a bug where a family had a fire in the house and the firelady came and put out the fire… then stayed. and stayed. and stayed! She napped on the couch, she ate the family’s food, she used our bathroom and shower for WEEKS. there was no way to interact with her at all, she was just this figure living in the house. I tried to kill her by boxing in an area in the house that she was standing in and setting fire to it. she didn’t die even though she was engulfed in flames! and the worst part was because she was the firelady, i couldn’t call the firemen because she was already there! Crazy! the family had to move out.
THEN, because he was a celebrity, i had that same problem with a paparazzi person! she would stay in the house, eat the food, use the facilities and take pictures! but we couldn’t talk to her or anything! it was totally crazy.
NOW, I am trying to get a level 3 visa to france. I can only be in France for about 9 hours before the game totally crashes (like to my desktop with an error message: ‘sims 3 has had an error and has to close’). I have to be very careful and save after every little thing I do or I lose it.
Anyone know of any patches or anything? This is getting a little ridiculous. I’m considering uninstalling WA.

I have a bug in which whenever I try and take picture with a camera from WA (not sure if its the same thing with the phone camera) it takes the picture, then freezes the sim and the picture doesn’t apear in the picture reel. I have a new Mac (that may answer it right there) with the Lion operating system, updated to the newest patch, and got World Adventures a couple days ago. I can fix it by resetSim but it’s kinda annoying that I can’t take pictures, meaning I can’t do the photography skill and I can’t do certain adventures. Help would be appreciated!

I’m having a problem too!! I have The Sims 3 World Adventures and Late Night. I sent my two newly wedded celebirty couple, on a HoneyMoon Vacation (particularaly China). And when they returned there was TWO of them. One at the corner of town driving in. And one in there apartment lobby! I took the easiest way I thought would work. Going to “Edit Town Mode” and splitting up the household. “Whats the worst thing that could happen?” I thought. But when I returned to the game. There profile image was gone! There was just the empty green box off to the side. But not just that. My Sims where missing too! I’ve had glitches in the past, like the “Error Code: 16″ one. But nothing as twisted and as mind boggling as this.

I had my sim go on a vacation to France. I saved during the vacation for safety purposes in case the game froze. When my sim returned home, there were two of her!! I exited with out saving, and replayed until my sim went home, but the same problem happened. I kicked the duplicate out but then the game started glitching and my sims parents couldn’t talk to anyone and the sims would randomly appear in different places!! Now I’ve tried to install the latest update, which is update 1.24.3.012001, and it almost finishes when an error message pops up that says “error message: Invalid File Found” I’ve tried to install it several times and it keeps saying the same thing. Please help me!!

I’m just wondering if you had any response to this because I have the same problem (duplication of character). If so please reply, I’m thinking of using the MoveObjects on cheat to delete the extra character … worrying that this will affect the original: therefore am a little hesitant of this action.

Sometimes when I try to take a picture with my Sims they just stand there and when I rightclick on the “Take photo…” action in the action cue nothing happens, and my Sim ends up standing there forever. They won’t even die. I end up having to not save the game.

There’s a World Adventures glitch that makes the time in the game stop for a little while about every 30 seconds. Sims stop, but certain things keep moving like water and trees blowing in the wind. It happens normally at night and I think it only happens in China.”

That’s just because there’s a lot happening on screen and in the area your Sim is in; the stopping is just your pc trying to load everything and keeping track of all the Sims around, and with not enough RAM to work with, it will freeze for a few seconds every now and then.

I had my sim go steady with a Chinese sim them broke them up. Now my sim can’t go steady, move in, or propose with any other sim. No commitment issues involved and my sim has full relationship bars with other romantic interests.

It was time to leave but the loading screen didn’t appear. I clicked stuff but nothing shows up, the whole screen went dim, nothing can be clicked and I had to restart the computer. My sims’ motives were depleting. The only thing you could do was watch.

Also, I started having problems. Just now. It’s been a few months and I didn’t have any problems until now. I was also playing when all of my sims suddenly disappeared. The parents were able to follow commands but you couldn’t see them, the teen was also invisible but couldn’t follow commands and her motives were also depleting. I decided to “move the lot” and they appeared again, but the same thing happened all over again after a few days. I moved the lot in a different place but then I decided to move into a different home and nothing’s gone wrong yet, but I’m afraid it might happen again.

one of the problems iam having with my sims is when i go to egypt and sleep in the tent my sim can no longer come out. they are stuck and theres nothing i can do about it, even wen my vacation is over it will just keep going. ive also had the problem where my mother sim and her toddler get frozen and it only unfrize when the toddler was starving and the social worker came to take her away. ive also noticed another glitch where my sims are doing woohoo and before its done they stop moving under the blanket andare frozen as well.

I have been trying to build a relationship with the French food merchant. She always seems to be on shift. i can’t seem to get past the basic flirting options. why is it that i can’t get the options to ask her to go steady, or woohoo, or any of that. i think there is a bug when it comes to this specific food merchant because she literally never leaves the shop. any suggestions?

Okay, so I went to holiday in Egypy. When I came back I quit the game and saved it but when I opened it again there were TWO of my characters. So I deleted one but she also had lost most of her friends and all of her foreign friends didn’t show up either. It’s so annoying!!!
