Me a few of my friends and admins decided to come together with this list of rappers and singers that are underrated, slept on, greater than and or deserve more recognition than Lil’ Wayne, Gucci Mane and Plies. Some you may know and some you may not. I don’t know how much I can stress this but, if you don’t agree then congrats, you’re not a sheep…but if you don’t agree and you get upset then an even bigger congratulations is in order, you’re a chump. Lets just all agree to disagree if it comes down to that shall we?
Singers
She just came out with this new song recently called ‘Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart’ and I will have to say that its one of her best. She’s beautiful, talented, unique. I would love to meet her one day so she can give me piano lessons. -Natasha
What can I say besides that he’s one of the best to had ever lived? His music is what you play at weddings or when you want to get close to someone. Trey Songz or anyone else can hold a candle to Luther. He sung his heart out in his songs and he didn’t have to get very provocative to do so. RIP Luther you will be missed. -Goodwin
Jay Sean:
Not a lot of people have even heard of him but they should. His music is great. So if you want something new [its old to me] to listen to, just do a search for him and you’ll some music you’ll like. -Collin
Avant:
I loved him ever since ‘Private Room‘ and I’m sure there are a lot of others that can agree with me or probably love all of his music. I would listen to him before I listen to Trey Songz. He’s over rated and he doesn’t sing….he whines and cries like a little baby. -Heff
Ginuwine:
When he came out with “Differences” that’s what made me a fan of Ginuwine. He knows how to swoon the ladies not try and see how fast he can make you say his name. ‘Love You More’ is another one of my favorites, I can listen to that one track for the rest of my life. Trey Songz or anyone of this year has came out with an R&B album that I can listen to without switching through the songs. Bring the old R&B back because its long overdue. -Sasha
Marques Houston:
I’ve been a fan of this sexy ass man since IMX but I really fell in love with him when he decided to go solo. ‘All Because of You’ is still one of my favorite songs by him to this day. He’s another underrated artist that no one really pays attention to although his recent album wasn’t all too great I will continue to be a dedicated fan of his because he’s one of the greatest. -Smiley
Maxwell:
My goodness this man right chea is smexy! Inside and out! I would love to meet this wonderful man one day. I used to listen to his wonderful melodies every night before I go to bed. His voice alone put me to a sounding sleep. He’s original, special, handsome, and underrated. -Ashley
She’s so underrated that I’m absolutely upset about it. People are so blinded and deaf by this garbage that has been in the music industry for years now that they can’t even remember or recognize the real true beauty of R&B and Jill Scott is one of R&B’s beauties. Her music makes me feel so good on the inside. She’s classy, remarkable, sexy and under-rated. -Deezy
Two words…slow…and down. That beat alone have me at ease. I have the instrumental and I can listen to that alone for hours and hours. That song is one of his best besides ‘My Angel’. He have a lot of bangers under his belt and I can relate and stomach every last one. I play Bobby Valentino when I want to get my girl in the mood; not no Plies or Trey Songs who sound like he need learn how to sing. Plies voice is enough to make me sick. -Carlos
Mary J. Blige:
There’s not much I can say about Mary J. Blige that hasn’t already been said that she’s a wonderful singer and we need more like her as role-models of today. Nikki Minaj is a poor misrepresentation of what a real woman is. Her alone let alone the rest of today’s trash is enough to kill me over 50 times or more. I would love to travel back to where the real music was. -MusicLover
Aijuswanaseing is infact one of his best albums. Its still fresh and people still enjoy listening to his music. I just wish he would of kept it fresh with his latest album but I guess you have to change with the world and I’m sorry that its not for the best. All in all Musiq Soulchild is one of the best. You don’t have to win pointless awards to recognize that. -Adam
I’m lucky to be alive in this generation to know what true talent is. Its people like Robin and others like him who make you know for a fact what’s good and what’s bad with music. I’m glad that I was reminded that all hope isn’t lost for the art of music and I thank Robin for that. -Michael
I could go on forever but I think you catch my drift. Notice I didn’t list Trey Songz, Beyonce, Rihanna and a few others that people think I should of listed. Why? Because in my opinion they are overrated. Yes Beyonce got some good songs and she do for the kids but so what? I hear more about her than I would like to. Same thing with Trey Songz, people no…women are going nuts because of his latest video/song called ‘I invented Sex’. Now everyone wants a man to do that to them. Not only that, men are driven to do what Trey Songz can do if not better. Bunch of sheep if you ask me.
Rappers
Besides his name being funny, don’t let that fool you. His music is great and my favorite song by him is ‘Come Close’ with Mary J. Blige. I can listen to that song forever. Instead of him degrading women he’s loving them in his lyrics. I would have to say; he disappointed me with his new album, ‘Universal Mind Control‘. That was not his best. He made up for it with is acting and his knack for writing. -Karla
He is one of the most critically, if not commercially, successful rappers in Hip hop music. Enough said. Not only that, I can relate to his music without getting annoyed that its about the same damn shit that these other rappers of today is shitting out. -Alex
All I had to do was listen to one of his albums [Food & Liquor] and I was hooked. His lyrical talent is far beyond of Lil’ Wayne’s and a lot others. He barely get recognized because the lack of understanding of his point of view. Not a lot of people can get into depth in their songs like he can. His lyrics actually have meaning to them and he’s not disrespecting women every other verse and every other song. I can listen to all of his albums and not grow tired of them. -Chris
Chamillionaire:
I think he’s the only rapper out there that can make a whole album without having to use such vulgar language and for that I commend him and thus why he’s one of my favorite rappers. -Sarah
Andre 3000:
He’s one of the most underrated rappers out there. I believe Andre 3000 will can chew up Lil’ Wayne and Gucci Mane with one verse if he wanted to. -Cedrick
Big L:
Let me just say RIP Big L. He was one of the greatest of my time. He was all I listened to back then. Now when I look at today’s music; it makes me weep for the future. We got a bunch of wannabe’s out here spitting out straight garbage. Its all the same crap on a different beat. -TheRealestMusician
Nas:
He know how to stick it where it hurts. He’s one of the best thus far in the rap industry. What I love about Nas is, he speak truth and he don’t back down from it. He raps how he see and he did that in his album hip-hop is dead. It really is and I think it needs more than just a defibrillator to bring it back. -James
Big Pun:
Wow, if he wasn’t dead. He would take the rap game by storm. People wouldn’t know what a Lil’ Wayne or a Boosie was. Hell I don’t know what a Boosie is now…he sounds like a cracked out Trina. -TinyTim
Pharrell:
Besides his group N.E.R.D when he’s collaborating with another artists; he makes the song sound great. I love him as a rapper and even more as a singer. He’s an all around guy. I wonder how his acting is…I know I would see every last movie with him in it. -BillyJeane
Although that recent stunt he pulled almost cause me not to respect him any more as a person but I can’t respect or disrespect someone I don’t know personally. Nevertheless, Kanye West music is hot, its spicy and its different. His video’s are interesting and cool. How many rappers albums out there who aren’t constantly bashing women or talking about slinging drugs can you listen to in its entity and love every one? A select few right? -James
No I did not list Nikki Minaj and this is why:
I can’t respect her as a rapper. Not only that, this past halloween was the last straw for me. Everyone was dressed up as Nikki Minaj. I would rather listen to Lil’ Kim and or Trina before I listen to her. Besides, her lyrics are sub-par. They don’t even shine a light on the old Lil’ Kim. And I’m sure both Lil’ Kim and Trina would maul her. I wish her over rated behind would just spontaneously combust right along with Lil’ Wayne. -Joshua
I would have to somewhat agree with Joshua.
Anyway, as I said before, get upset, cry, piss, pay a bill…it won’t change how people feel about music and people with a idiotic reason to actually get upset about someone’s opinion should just sit down and shut up. People don’t care what you think and neither should it matter about what they think unless you agree…if you disagree fine but no one here is “hatin” or being a “hater” because you don’t agree. If you feel someone is missing from this list then well…nothing I can do about it but allow you to voice your opinion but that’s as far as it will go.

A nigga is simply a black cracker. rise up by being decent and useful. stagnate by complaining about the crackers that rised up earlier.
