The Sims 3: Patch Download Available for Windows FINALLY
Yep, finally EA has came out with a patch for The Sims 3 PC game for Windows. You can download it through the download manager. I don’t need it though, my copy of The Sims 3 works perfectly fine.
Complete List of Changes:
- Addresses some issues with Speed 2 and 3 moving too slowly. Some machines will have better results when using Speed 2 and 3 now.
- Fix to story progression on/off selection toggle.
- Fix for a possible crash with audio code.
- Fix for babysitter routing off lots with babies.
- Addresses some issues with Vsync and refresh rate problems.
- Addresses some issues with DVD authentication errors and drive compatibility on startup.
- This update deals with some issues on Mac systems that can crash the game while connecting to AFP servers.
- Fix for a freeze that can occur when Sims attempt to clean out bad food from the fridge.

It should be under your launcher under updates.
it says that my game is up to date so does that mean the patch is installed?

ive had thatt happen too!! like i got halfway through my career without saving and it exits with no message or anything just ends. but other than that works fine and it hasnt happened in a few days.

my game has the authorization code problem but when i looked at the game updates it says it is up to date…what is the problem???
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game?
I downloaded the patch and it broke my copy of the Sims 3. Unfortunately up until that point, my game *was* working perfectly, it’s now crashing just after the intro movie (before it even gets to a menu).

my PC is far above minimum specs, my drivers are up to date. no reply from EA support so far, but I massively regret having set it to auto install patches.
Uninstall the game and it will take the patch off.
trying to load Sims3 on PC- computer meets all EA sys req but the error message I get (whether using AutoRun or manually starting setup) is “5001 : ox80070002″. EA support was useless, saying it’s a Windows problem.

Try uninstalling then reinstalling the game.

Its under updates in your Sims 3 Launcher.
Well I have in Czech language and upadates is Aktualizace Hry but i have nothing under that.

The refrigerator fix, is that when we want to clean up the leftovers but the option wont appear?
@sarah, maybe your pc temperature is too high, or the battery is low if u are using laptop.
heyy! Im 13 and not quite sure how to find, and download this patch. also, my graphics are not good and the normal time (not sped up) is still horribly slow. Please help!
Its under Game Updates when you first load up the game and The Sims 3 Launcher appears.
it says my game is up to date, yet it still crashes whenever i go into create a sim.
also, when im at a community lot, theres always this black thing, i dont really know how to describe it but it blocks my view. it usually covers about half the screen.
i was thinking about going back to best buy and exchanging my game, do you think a new game would make a difference? if not how can i solve this??
Could be your graphics card. Or your computer entirely. What kind of computer do you have?

the speed improvement is GREAT.
It sucks that the game just completely shut down while i was playing it (how rude right?)

other than that it works perfectly fine minus a few wierd happenings like – taking forever to sign an autograph
is it the pathing that does this? is swear it takes like 45 sim minutes to go to the sim that wants it to be signed.
