    Tips & Tricks

    • Sick of watering your plants?

This helpful ‘Schprinkler’ waters plants on a 5×5 area. Although it seems like a waste of water having to run your sprinkler 24/7 it is totally worth it. You don’t need to go near it to turn it on and off, it’s remote like music systems. Luckily you can lower the cost of your bills by Tinkering with the ‘Schprinkler’ and making it Auto-Water your plants between 4am and 7am, which is helpful as it starts an hour before the growth occurs, and ends an hour after.

    • Green Thumb personality trait and Super Green Thumb Lifetime Reward will help gardening.

Sim with Green Thumb personality trait will have “Talk To Plant” interaction with plant which will increase the quality of plant produce. Sim with Super Green Thumb Lifetime Reward will grow plant one level of quality higher than the seed or fruit they planted.

    • Search the neighborhood for better quality seeds to start with.

    Extreme Life Insurance

[Friend] fears a visit from the grim reaper may come all too soon and would like a little… insurance. Grow a Death Flower and deliver it to [Friend] before it’s too late. You’ll be paid handsomely for this piece of insurance – a wise choice!

    Uncommonly Good

Bring 20 Excellent Harvest-able(s) to the restaurant to receive the ability to plant Cheese and Eggs.

    The Omnificent Plant

Bring 10 Outstanding Steaks to the Restaurant. The chef at the restaurant has one final challenge for you to complete before granting you unlimited gardening power! You’ve been asked to bring in 10 homegrown Steaks of Outstanding quality. It’s a nigh impossible order to fill, but you must find a way if you want the Omni Plant!

How do I get 10 the steaks? This is driving me crazy.

    2. Olivia says:

Hey, I got the opportunity to turn in ten bad apples and i got one bad apple to start with but after i planted it the tree was in normal quality, so how do i get bad apples??
      thanks!

    3. Mary says:

Ahhh, this is exactly what I was searching for – thanks! :)

      • Lee says:

        You’re welcome.

    4. I will tell you this is the fourth time I have read your blog and Im diggin it! I added your website to my rss reader. Looking forward to see more updates!

    5. Dinda Ayu says:

Thank you so much for your information!!!!! I just can’t wait until my Flame Fruit Bush harvest.

    6. Wow that helped me a lot. I have a perfect garden now. Literally. I have one of every type of plant (Including the special ones and everything), cheese plants, egg plants, all the possible types of omni plants, and a pond with all of the different types of fish in the middle. My family is in it’s 27th generation, and the first girl born is always the gardener.

      • Lee says:

        Cool. :D

    7. ShelleyB says:

I have a stupid question, since I have pretty well got this gardening thing down. My sims all get cooking and gardening mastered as soon as they age up and start the planting, fertilizing, “weeding out” process really early. So far, every family has gotten the omni plant, but a couple of times it took a long time to get the final stage, where the restaurant wants the steaks. —just my experience—

So my stupid question is, out of all these fantastic gardeners, cooks, and fishermen (fisherpeople), why am I not able to revive a harvested death flower? I have testingcheatsenabled, and have tried shifting/click, CTRL/click, and just clicking on the dead plant only lets me discard dead plants. My sims have green thumb trait and super green thumb lifetime reward as well. I just don’t get it. Help me???

      • Lee says:

I don’t know because that’s the only way you can get it is if you have the green thumb lifetime reward.

    8. neothegreat says:

      thanks Lee for your reply

      • Lee says:

        You’re welcome.

    9. neothegreat says:

so basically all oppurtunities, the 1st, 2nd and so forth until the last, all i need to do is continue gardening and wait for the phone to ring to trigger the oppurtunities, is this wat u mean?

      • Lee says:

yea, that’s how I got the omni-plant opportunity…infact I’m still working on that one right now.

    10. neothegreat says:

how to trigger the 1st step of oppurtunity that leads to the Omni plant? is there any specific way?

      • Lee says:

You have to get the first two opportunities and achieve them. Then after awhile your phone will ring and you’ll get the omni plant achievement. Basically just garden and wait…that’s all I did.

    11. neothegreat says:

is there any specific way of triggering the 1st step of the oppurtunity

where do I get the Schprinkler from?

      • Lee says:

    15. Gnome says:

I know you can also feed the omni plant Sir Ducksworth of Bathington…. is there anything else, or do you know where I can find a list of items it can be fed?

      • Lee says:

Can not be fed Death Flower, Money Bag, seeds, or household objects, but can be fed fruits, vegetables, fish, as well as non-disappearing books (no recipes, sheet music), to produce one harvest’s worth of multiple copies, before needing to be fed again.

    18. Brash says:

Mia, after you turn in the excellent produce quest, are you actually buying & planting eggs & cheese, as I believe that may trigger the next step. I always buy them at the grocery, not sure if trying to use up the lower grade ones in the refrig has any issues. I usually get the next phase (turn in outstanding cheese for the beef/patty quest) several days after I plant the eggs/cheese but before my first harvest of them (also on normal/default aging scale.)

    19. Pip says:

Also, my Sim (with green thumb trait) found onion and garlic outside the swimming pool…. I can’t remember the name but it wasn’t the little sharks one :)

    20. Brash says:

Mia, they do not “call you back”, you need to -deliver- them in person. Just zoom out into town view (make sure with the sim who has the quest) and you will see an icon where to deliver the produce.

    21. mbfb1987 says:

Also i forgot to say thank you :)

i have one more question :)

quality of the ferlitize materials are important ??

      • Lee says:

No not really…it makes the value of them better though.

    22. mbfb1987 says:

you give very very good information about gardening but i have a question for you :) ))

can u explain Grades & Times section. what does it means grades and times ????

      • Lee says:

grade is the rank…time is in days.

    24. Mia says:

I have been having difficulty getting the Omniplant. Say Mary-Anne reached level 10 Gardening by the time she was an adult. She got the call for 20 excellent harvestables and delivered that day. Well… They never call back. She went through her adult stage and died of old age. I made sure that I have room for it.

This is the same for every other sim I’ve tried with.

Is thus a glitch? I’m playing on a normal length lifetime.

      • Lee says:

Yes, that’s a glitch, I’ve done the Omniplant and I did that challenge/opportunity I forget which one it is and it worked just fine. You can always try cutting story progression off or turning aging off and see if that triggers something.
