okay so im having problems with my authorization code… when i go to download things from the sims stores it askes me to put in my code..
which i do.
than it tells me that it is either invalided or used? how can that be.. its so very frustrating
is there anything i can do?

I’ve got the problem where my sims won’t get fat right… the body parts detach, and I have to put the slider in the exact right position for the sim to look normal. in addition, the muscle slider doesn’t work, and the same problem occurs with my pregnant sim. Is this a problem with my computer or is it a game issue? I hope EA can make a patch for it!!! it’s really annoying with my pregnant sim walking around like she’s pregnant, but looking the same. And her head is detached from her body and one eye is misplaced… it’s REALLY weird.
does anyone know how to solve it/if EA is working on it?
In CAS I made a family with three teens, upon moving them into their house I noticed that they were no longer related. But the sims meant to be their parents were still married.
A toddler sim grew up into a child, so I picked a trait, though she still only has two traits.
So is that a glitch, bug, minor annoyance?
I have the same problem as:
“Decreasing/increasing body weight on my Sim in CAS, the body parts detach from the whole Sim. For example, when I’m increasing body weight, the Sim’s torso detaches from the body. Likewise, while I’m decreasing the body weight, the Sim’s torso moves away from the rest of the body. Another glitch/bug is that when I increase my Sim’s muscle mass in CAS, there is no visible change.”
And i have looked EVERYWHERE to see how to fix this problem. i can’t find anything. And i have waited for almost a week for the Sims website to reply. So do you have ANY idea how i can fix this? My computer is more that good enough to handle the sims 3…

My sims go bald when i zoom in. Any way to stop this?
Nope not at the moment, its the game and its going to need a patch.
I hate that single sims have babies on their own! No baby have just one parent! this bugs me alot.. alot.
Yea, I truly hope that’s a bug.
I had a sim have a baby with a non-played sim, and the baby has dissipeared… gone off into the ether. Baby shows up in the geneology, but not in the household.
Mother even had a want to hold the baby when I did try and play her, but the baby is no where to be found.
Sounds like a bug more than a glitch. The babies are supposed to stay with a family until they’re older, if it disappeared that’s the game having bugs in it. EA will have a patch for all these bugs, errors, and glitches soon…hopefully.
My problem is that my screen goes completely black after playing the game anywhere from 2 minutes to a hour. It shuts down every time I play. Also, I don’t get the option to choose a furnished or unfurnished house. It says furnished or unfurnished, but there is not a box to check or highlight.
Here is my dxdiag info. Note: In the memory information, it says I have 1 gig. I normally use 4 gig of memory — but the game seems to shut down less quickly when I use only 1 gig. Maybe it is just a coincidence — because 4 gig of memory would be better than 1 gig.

It sounds like you have a graphics card issue, but to be sure, go here. This may help you. I hope it does.
I’m having the same problem, and it seems my computer has a lot in common with yours, same amount of memory, same graphic card. I’m really starting to hate this. My computer should be good enough.

Uhmm! I have the Pirated copy it works fine I was so HAPPY.
Then after 2 days it becomes laggy SLOW MOWISH like.

The only glitch I encountered so far in this forum is the costume glitch the one when my SIM goes to BED or WORK wearing his formal clothes or swim suit and his hairstyle changes also.
It’s because I didn’t played much I was so busy creating my look alike SIM and building his Dream House for 1 1/2 days. ^__^
I’m thinking to buy the original but seeing all of those problems makes me think twice.
Well being that its a pirated version you’re bound to run into some problems. Your computer specs are fine. I have a quad core with a 7600 graphics card and I’m surpassed the requirements. Its the game, you can always try and get a better version but I wouldn’t recommend it because that copy might be worse than the one you already have.
I wish tehy’d wait to launch this game after it was ready. With this amount of bugs, maybe in 2012 we can play it right… ¬¬

Not all the time, but every now and then (especially if I zoom out too far or go up to many stories of a house) all this flashy coloursful crap literally takes over my screen. But then if I adjust the angle of the screen and so fourth it just goes back to normal. My computers fairly new, meets all the requirements, whats wrong??????
one mor question, how do i uninstall my game? wen i go into sims 3 folder there is no uninstall wizard or anytin like that!

Try seeing if you can go to your control panel under remove ‘Add or Remove Programs’. It should be under there, if not…wow.

The exact same thing happens on mine! When I’m playing a family, colorful jagged thick lines cover parts of the house, and stay there until I adjust the angle, and even sometimes it stays there for a while regardless. It’s very frustrating, because when I get a good angle where it’s normal, I don’t want to move it at all, or else it’ll mess up again. I’ve been searching to see if other people have this problem, this is the first time I’ve noticed someone mentioning it. My computer definitely meets and exceeds the requirements, and the graphics card is good also. Oh, and I downloaded the game, I didn’t buy the disc.
The graphics card could be good but could be going bad as well. Then again, being that TheSims3.com are having a lot of issues with their servers, downloading the game is risky. When did you download the game? The colorful lines sound like a graphics card issue. Did you upgrade your card?
Having played the game nearly nonstop since release I’ve discovered a few more not yet mentioned. I computer definitely meets the game’s requirements and plays beautifully (expect when the following occur)
1. When my spouse character (2nd character) arranges a party by phone her co-workers list contains only the co-workers of my main character (1st character).
2. The game’s music plays at menu screens and initial load, but fails to play once in game. Custom tracks on the radio do play however.
3. When given the command “Save and Quit” the game successfully saves, but fails to exit hanging on a black screen with the game’s music playing.
4. After a rather large party, one guest wasn’t able to leave. She showed a “couldn’t reach destination” bubble above her head no matter where she was on the property, including next to the street. I was able to successfully get her to “leave” by inviting her to a different location with me.
WORST OF ALL:
My spouse Sim literally froze in place. She was talking with the maid and suddenly stopped: the character (and maid) became completely inanimate and failed to respond to any commands given (they simply added to the queue). The first-most command was “chatting with the maid” which was when the character and maid froze, it could not be cancelled. Commands from my first character could be given to her (as well as the maid), but he since he had to wait for her to finish her conversation with the maid, nothing occurred. The frozen character’s attributes continued to decrease although I didn’t not wait for all to be depleted to see what would happen. I attempted to save my game, but received a “Code 12″ failure. I was forced to return to an older saved game.
Appending the above:
(2.) Initially the music played in game as intended but stopped working shortly into my game play experience. It has not returned.
(3.) This seems to occur often, but not every time.

Yeah, one of my sims just froze and won’t do anything. It’s mood and attributes decrease, but it won’t do anything.

Mine did the same it was horrible, she got stuck playing the football game, it was really creepy. I don’t know what changed but eventually she wet herself and started moving again. I don’t know what happened to make her move, but I didn’t do anything. So don’t loose hope, Maybe it will happen to yours too?
My main problems are:
1. I can’t control the time as I did in TS2. The speed 3 is about 40% faster then speed 1. =/ This sucks ’cause I can’t really play the game, because real game progress would take a week to accomplish.
2. In the atlhetic career building, there’s a graphic glitch that just won’t go away. It takes over almost the entire screen.
3. Sometimes, the colors of the game go darker and they won’t come back.
4. Often, the game just crashes.
5. TV never turned off.
6. Minor glitches like failed animations and food that eventually disappear.
Please, anyone know the reasons for any of these?
Specially 1 and 2. ‘Cause they’re the worst ones.

Sounds like its the game AND your graphics card. Did you download the game or do you have the disc?
I have it on disc. Collector’s edition.
Plus, I tried tuning down the graphics, but the speed doesn’t change, and the graphic glitch on the roof of the stadium won’t go away.
When I play with minimum graphics I get the same bugs and performance I get with maxed out graphics.
I dunno what to do. Should I try to trade the game on the store? I’m considering buying a GeForce, but my Motherboard is on-board and that could be tricky.
Also, I dunno if anyone else gets this bug, but the green squares in buy mode are all bizarre and stretched out. Oo

Speed 4 is the fasted speed in game and ends when the action is completed, speed 3 is again fast but remains there until user changes it. I would suggest playing the game on speed 2 or speed 1 which are somewhat normal. Btw one more thing, when your sim goes to bed or in office, the speed automatically changes to speed 3.
I guess for Sims 3 you need a dedicated graphics card. I would suggest if you get time to read the Readme file for the hardware requirement or check whether your card is listed in it that would help you determine the exact cause of this problem
I’m not sure if this was posted on here yet, but I’m still confused by it, though it’s not a glitch. I made a single female sim, and bought her a house and what-not. Then I made a single male sim, and I moved him into another house. The problem is that they can never interact! My female sim can’t go to the male sim’s house, because it shows that he’s not living there. He just doesn’t exist in her neighborhood, and vice versa. I have to save them with different ‘saved as’ names, because if I do save them with the same name, one sim gets deleted. I’m hoping there is a way around it, or even that maybe I’m being an idiot, and that the answer is really obvious, haha.
My favorite sim got stuck today. I was trying to get him a girl after that, My sims dont do anything and they disapear and show up everytime.. DAMN.XD
I pre-ordered my sims 3 game and when it came I realized the time wouldn’t speed up, meaning I was sitting watching my sims sleep for about 8 minutes and waiting like 15 for them to come back from work. I then returned my game and got a new one, I had the same problem. I returned this game also and same problem again. really really fustrating, makes the game almost unplayable. my computer meets and exceeds the system requirements. am I just that unlucky to have had 3 faulty discs. please please please get back to me as soon as possible. especially if anyone knows of any ways at all how to fix or help this. thank you xxx
Are you selecting the speed buttons or no? I mean it can’t be all three discs can it?
yessss I’ve tried pressing ’3′, ’2′ or ’4′ on my keyboard and like clicking the arrows with my mouse. I thought it can’t possibly be all 3 discs also. but my laptop is in good condition with all the system requirements. it’s so fustrating, I can’t play the game whatsoever, everything else works fine. it’s just I can’t stand the waiting around for my sim to sleep or work xx
Yea, I asked because mine works fine, I bought my disc as well and it speeds up pretty good. Its not like The Sims 2 but it works. Its not your computer, its the game. Hopefully there will be a patch for this soon.

MY game uploaded totally fine, and when i click on sunset valy, it loads, but then it only gets so far, and flashes other screans, and when i go to the creat a sim (everything is covered in this white flashy stuff) and then it flashes like everywere and when i go to create a sim, it shows the loading screen and then the stuff to make it but you cant see the sim

hi I was wondering if anyone could help me.
Basically I bought the game yesterday and everything is fine with it except it goes reeeeeeally slow and keeps freezing. I think this may be a problem with my computer but don’t know how to fix it? The other sims worked fine on my computer but I’m annoyed because it takes 5 minutes just to walk somewhere. It is also really slow loading the neighbourhoods and changing the camera angle!
Otherwise, I have no other bugs.
Does anyone know what I have to do so it runs faster?
Close down programs you aren’t using, see how much RAM/Memory you have and maybe do a system clean up.
The first time I played the game I made a family and all was well. Just as I saved the family the game just disappeared and went back to the desktop. Now I when I turn the game on I select the family and choose a block of land, just as it finishes loading the land it disappears again. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Reinstall the game and see if that helps. Do a system clean up, also check and see if you can even run the game. I have the system requirements in my blog.

Goodness, I’ve been waiting so long for this game to come out only to find out that there are so many glitches! One of them particularly bugs the heck out of me.
Macbook users: Are any of you experiencing a problem in create-a-sim? Like when you go there, the same is all black except the eyes and hair? Is there any way to fix this? This game is starting to annoy me.

Yea, usually when you get those type of bugs, its usually the users computer that’s the problem.
I am really not happy, i use a Macbook that i have got about 1 year and a half ago, not sure if it’s a glitch or not. But, whenever i play and i want to create a character, the person is all black except for the eyes, hair and shoes.
and also when i zoom up on the person, he/she goes bald!!
i really want them to fix this, unless its because of my graphics.
i really regret buying this game, sims and sims 2 were just amazing, but i guess this one is very disappointing.
You need a new computer. Usually older computers have a hard time playing new games.

i found another bug and i can’t pass it.
i’ve got some bad food in the fridge. my sim always tries to clean it up but the game gets frozen. i tried selling the fridge and buying a new one, same situation. I have no idea what to do. I get to play this game max 1 min

The game isn’t being read right, games think and they have to process that action and that’s probably why its getting stuck. Have you tried reinstalling the game to see if that worked?
That happens to me too! I realized that before, the dirty surrounding didn’t affect my sims’ moods. But when i made a new dish and it became spoiled, it had a negative effect. Hoping this time it would work, I made my sim clean out the fridge; but it froze again….
How do you reinstall (the backing up part) on a mac?

There are a lot of people having the same issue so I’m guessing its a software problem and the only thing people can do right now is wait for the patch.

Right I bought the game, installed it and it came on fine. Then I clicked on sunset valley and it takes quite a while to load but then about 3/4 of the way along the load bar it suddenly stops loading and then it goes black and then goes onto my desktop and basically the game has just decided to close down.
I made my setting low, I’ve put it on window mode.
The reason i can think of it being, is my ram, as I have 1gb of ram and because I’m on vista, I’m meant to have 1.5gb.

Usually when a game crashes its because of the game has faults, errors, bugs in it. My best advice is to try and get another copy or reinstall the one you have. If you can get a hold of a better copy and it still crashes, then maybe it is your computer and not the game. I’m sure its the game though.
If I uninstall the game and install it again, will the serial code still work?
Yes, it should but this is EA, they’re unpredictable at times. I haven’t heard though of any problems with people uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
i know this has nothing to do with bugs but if ur not on a family and they have a baby does the computer name it?
Yes, I believe so.
I have a couple new bugs to add to the list.
1) Saves don’t function on all parts of a lot or family: If you switch from one active family to another, you cause everything in Personal Inventory of family A to be sold, and give you the appropriate funding, unless it’s a used item, such as a laptop or a guitar, which stays. This includes the Lifetime Reward “Collection Helper” (the $6000 is NOT compensation IMO)
2) Turning off aging is buggy: The time bar ’til next age will fill randomly, but they will not age, and it will reload when next you go to Map View
3) Experiment Auras will not always show (Going to Map View and coming back will fix this)
Yea the 2nd one is definitely a bug because my time bar doesn’t budge at all with aging off.
Basically the game takes twenty minutes to load up, the graphics are awful, i’ve tried to fix this on settings but it just made the game worse. Its really slow, always freezing, the screen goes darker with a line across the top for no reason. I can’t do anything because the game basically doesnt work,.

You can always try but it depends on where you got it from. Did you download it or did you buy the disc? The download seems to have more errors than the disc. Even the glitches between the two are different in most cases.
I have the same glitch with the torso separating from the legs when Sims are fat or pregnant. There is also no noticeable difference when I use the muscle mass bar. When Sims get pregnant, don’t look pregnant.
Also, I have the time glitch. I bought my game at a store.
Thankfully, those are the only two problems I have had thus far. While they are quite annoying, they certainly aren’t as bad as some of the others I’ve read on here.
I truly hope there is a patch soon.

Here’s a new one…my sim and her toddler are floating in space next to my house. They are selectable, but they can’t move anywhere
These glitches just keep getting better and better…-sarcasm-
I just brought the game this morning and it was all goin well until about 2 minutes into playin the game, my monitor turned off sayin it had no signal and wouldnt come back on, yet my tower was still running…any ideas?
I got a perfect idea. Mine did that but I was building my PC at the time. Wiggle your monitor cord wild the computer is still running. If its connect to a graphics card, sometimes that graphics card make the monitor lose the signal.
Everytime I lost the signal I would just wiggle the cord but you have to know how to, not to hard or not too soft. OR you can take the graphics card out and slide it back OR unhook your monitor from the graphics card and plug it back, all this you have to do with the computer is still running.
If that don’t work then you need to probably get you a new graphics card. I hope this has helped.
I’m getting an inventory glitch where I can accept offers from fellow sims to fix/upgrade things but after accepting nothing goes into my inventory although the task is listed so I eventually have to cancel it – hoping it’ll fix itself but doesn’t even after multiple jobs. The inventory works fine when buying or placing things in it though
My mistake, turns out the ‘family inventory’ was in the build mode. I thought I was already in it because I only had one sim

My sims can’t have a baby!! I tried like 5 times and she still won’t get pregnant…and her toddler dissapeared once she place him on the ground. This is irritating and I don’t know what to do!! OH and the time speed thing sucks!
What does her moodlet say or what is the image it gets when you try if there is one?
I havent had any problems.
The only glitch i encountered was when you have a toddler sitting on the floor watching TV, and the parents are also watching the TV. They are talking back and forth. When the toddler speaks it’s upper body stretches. And well, its fricking hilarious.
Note: The toddler may have had to been taught to speak first.
Yea, that would be funny to me as well, at least you’re one of the lucky ones that don’t have life changing glitches.
Ugh, the roofs are bugging the hell out of me; I can see roofs from pre-existing houses packaged with the game, but once I visit those homes, I can’t view their roofs. Likewise, I can’t build anything from scratch because the rooftiles won’t show (just walls and/or floortiles that come with the roof-style) -_-’
Have you tried clicking the button that looks like a house on your interface?
If you mean the “up one floor” button/ the “home” button on the keyboard, then yes. All roofs are invisible once I visit the lot/create a house from scratch.
Oops… I meant “Page Up” button the keyboard ^-^’
– And once I go into “Edit Town” mode, the roofs are not visible from the houses I built.
I’m sooo sick of this game already because the glitches are rediculous. My dad walks around “carrying” a non-existant baby and goes from proper position to standing repeatedly. My tv has dissapeared except for the screen (it has a stand). My chess table doesn’t allow two people to play, so I can’t do chess progression by having tournaments. One of the chairs is glued to it, the other is as if its not recognized.
Things that are not glitches that blow even worse:
You cannot merge families, so when you fall in love and ask “are you single” and they say “yes” and then you marry them and find out all of a sudden your a step-daddy/step-mommy. Its bull**it. If they are single they should say “yes” or “yes but I have children”. It is completely unfair to get dumped with kids without being able to move them out with another family and then move back the adult. The whole way you get to play the beginning of it blows. I miss being able to see the neighborhood and scroll to my house and choose it to start playing, not this “which family do you want to play” bs.
I don’t think that that chess glitch is a glitch. If you were in a chess tournament, that isn’t a glitch but if you’re inviting someone to play then yea that’s a pretty messed up glitch. It seems like me and a few others are the only ones that’s not having any problems.
I know playing this game thats filled with bugs and glitches is a grave lost for people who were looking forward to the game. 9/10 I feel more apologetic about the whole situation that the creators at EA do.
Just thought i’d update- yes I can’t have anyone play chess with me, when I ask they walk around and stamp because there is no chair- same with just the normal play function. I did find that the outdoor chess set works properly and have switched to that.
I really have been looking forward to this game for almost a year now… but I find myself wanting to go back to sims 2, at least they have everything worked out there already.
Yea and besides the fact that the items are basically the same and if not better on The Sims 2. Then on the site the Exchange where you can download things to the game; those things are the same all the people did was change the colors.
Rather than the screen going black and then the game freezes, it goes black but it goes back to the game normally. A few seconds later, it goes black again and the game reapears and acts normally. The problem is that the controls are now screwed up. I cannot click on any of the buttons on the lower panel and clicking on objects is next to impossible. Sometimes the textures change after it goes black. So, im guessing it has to do with the light and the time of the day.
Also, I have trouble with lighting. I like a well lit home but my sims appearently grew up in a cave. Even during daylight hours, its too dark sometimes. They need to make the lights brighter.
I have yet to find any issues with babies.
That was the only problem I had with the game but come to find out, it was my graphics card. I changed my graphics card and its just fine now.
How did you update your graphics card??
All my game is pixellated and has awful graphics. I was so disppointed. All of the patterns on Create A Sim clothes are basically a blur, the game freezes and crashes when loading Create A Sim and sometimes when in the middle of creating a family, which is SO irritating because i loose everything i have done.
Sometimes when i enter the neighbourhood after the video zooms in it just goes blank blue so you cannot see the houses or neighbourhood but you can still see the Create A Family & Move In A Family options but you cannot move them in because you cannot see the lots!!!!!!!
I’m so annoyed and angry at this game. I am thinking of re-installing my Sims 2 if i can’t fix it.
Can anyone give me graphics card advice?!?!?! Please as i think thats the problem, thank youuu!!!!
They either have drives you can download to upgrade your graphics card but I had to go out and buy a whole new one. Cost me $90.00.
If you can, can you post the specifics of your graphics card, I’ll be able to give you better advice then.
I’m having really bad graphics and a problem with the hair dissapearing. It’s reallyyy frustrating, too. My computer can easily support Sims, and the hair is bugging me out, too.
Will it change if I make a new sim?
I don’t think it will. I think the game is either faulty or the graphics card is going awry. Graphics cards are unpredictable at times, trust me I know. I just got the game and I couldn’t play it because my graphics card wasn’t allowing my monitor to get a signal so I had to find a way to get it to. It took me a good 24 hours before I was able to play the game.
I also believe that the game hardware is failing. If you downloaded The Sims 3 off the website through the 2-3 then I truly believe that could be the problem because at that time there were server issues and people were downloading the game or trying to for hours. When they finally downloaded it it was full of glitches and bugs probably due to the issues the site was having.
Hopefully EA is getting on this situation and we as customers should see results by next week and not next month. This is totally unacceptable on so many levels.
i have a mac and am using it on there and the curser does not show until i move the mouse and then it appears but with this black box around it that skips all over the screen. this is my second Sims 3 i’ve gone through. NOT HAPPY!!!!
It also takes forever to create a sim then it freezes and crashes when i do the relationships thing, making me start over everytime bc it does not save.
I wonder, did you download it or did you buy the game from a store?
People who bought it from the store are having less problems. I bought mine from GameStop and I haven’t had any glitches, the game works flawlessly. EVEN THOUGH my boyfriend downloaded the pirated copy/demo/torrent and that game was fine as well.
I’m looking forward to people getting the game they paid for, I truly feel bad that so many people are having so many problems.
I am experiencing a roof glitch in that when I go to add a roof to the home that I am building, bright colors flash on the screen and I cannot see much of the home. This glitch completely renders the roof mode useless. Does anybody else have this problem?
I believe that’s a graphics card issue.
I experienced the glitch of not being able to play the game that I payed for! My glitch involves the part right after I press the play button on the launcher and the screen will go black (with the icon in the bar below) like it’s going to play but then the screen goes back to my desktop and the icon below is eliminated. My computer is up to date, and I even downloaded a new driver and I’ve heard of a few others having the same problem.
That sounds like the game didn’t download or install to your computer correctly. Could be a graphics, or RAM issue as well. Have you tried restarting your computer or reinstalling the game?
I experienced this bug:
Taught a toddler to talk and now neither her or the mom can do anything except sit there, frozen.
I tried having the mom do something else. I tried having the toddler do something else. I tried having the dad interact with the mom or the toddler. I tried having a babysitter come over. Nothing worked. They were ‘stuck in chat animation’ for over 24 hours. The social worker finally took all the kids away which released the ‘lock’, but was obviously a lousy solution.
This is a crash, albeit a soft crash, but a crash nonetheless.
Very frustrating. I was so hopeful that after the 3 1/2 month release delay that the game would be relatively free of major bugs like this.
Truly I know how disappointing that could be because it makes you wonder when they extended the release; were they working on the game or playing putt putt golf for 3 1/2 months?
I hope the patches are coming soon. Then again, this is EA; EA can barely get Need For Speed right.
I have a similar problem,
my couple are stuck making out on the bed!
nothing make them move.
they have a toddler who was crying but they were stuck making out.
They have been like it for so long that social services came and took the child away, and they are still stuck making out on the bed.
it was the favourite of my familes, so im getting annoyed now!

Try the reset sim cheat.
Press ctrl shft C and type in Reset Sim Firstname Lastname
Time speed problem = very annoying.
It works seemingly fine when doing anything other than sleeping!
Ugh! Which is absolutely obsurd. I don’t want to sit and watch them sleep. Borrringgg.

OMG!!! The first problem on the list is the one i have!!! It’s the one that says decreasing/increasing body weight on my Sim in CAS makes the body parts detach from the whole Sim. For example, when I’m increasing body weight, the Sim’s torso detaches from the body. Likewise, while I’m decreasing the body weight, the Sim’s torso moves away from the rest of the body. Another glitch/bug is that when I increase my Sim’s muscle mass in CAS, there is no visible change. Thank god I’m not the only one with this problem! I hope I can find a solution!

I’m having the glitch with the head and legs separating from the torso as well. I really hope it gets fixed quickly!

When I was teaching a baby how to talk, they got stuck sitting down and now I cant get them up!
That’s just like objects are getting stuck in the game. I’ve just downloaded and started to play the game. I haven’t came across any glitches yet.
the same thing happened to me.
if you open the cheat bar by holding down ctrl shift C, then type “resetSim firstname secondname” as in “resetSim Charles Milano” it fixes your sim.
Ugh!! I’m dealing with those things, too!!!
But is anyone also having a problem with delayed clicking? I move the mouse to do any action on a certain object, and it needs to hover for about five seconds before I can actually do anything to it! Sometimes it pulls up the menu for a different object entirely! So infuriating!!
Nope, I’m not having that problem as of yet.
I am experiencing most of the things on this list -
Time speed is the SAME, regardless of changing from 1-3.
Sims taking cabs when accessed to cars, carpool still showing up when they have cars.
There are also the simpler things that I loved in the Sims 2 that were wiped out in the S3. Being able to have memories, speeding up through events like sleeping and working that seem like HOURS when sitting there waiting, and plenty of other things that I could list(but can’t exactly remember at the moment).
There needs to be a patch, and soon! People are rioting on forums everywhere I’ve looked, and it doesn’t look like it will end up pretty if that patch doesn’t fix all of the problems.
S3 staff, please, the fans are extremely disappointed and just want their games to work!
Well it seems the demo/pirated copy speed feature actually works. It fast foward I believe up to x4. That’s what my boyfriend told me.

Yea, they are taking forever with that patch aren’t they? They already have one for the MAC’s.
Female character had a small glitch in moodlet panel, the “Cozy Fire” moodlet when the family did not have a fireplace.-
My sim has this when she has flame fruit in her inventory so it may not be a glitch.

My version of the sims 3 runs almost perfectly. There are a few things here and there that could be patched, but nothing that interrupts my game. (For example in the family inventory I have a blank item that can’t be moved or sold.)
I have a computer built for gaming, it runs games like fallout 3 at maximum settings – and the sims 3 works beautifully on it, also with everything turned up to maximum.
Last night I had to fix up my mums computer so she could play it. Since her processor wasn’t fast enough, the game ran in real time – you couldn’t speed it up at all. I then installed the game on her other 3ghz computer, stuck in a 2006 era 256MB video card, and it ran almost as well as on my computer.
If you have anything less than the specs supplied by EA, don’t buy this game.
One thing I found is that if I don’t save every half an hour, the game freezes. I put this down to the massive cache it must be building up on the RAM as I play – you need to write this to the hard disk every now and then so you don’t run out of RAM.
i haven’t had any probs that are on here,the only problem i’ve had is the opportunities. when i get one it says the item will show in the family inventory but it never shows so i cant take,otherwise everything is working perfectly

What kind of RAM do you have?
It isnt the ram building up its a glitch (maybe a memory leak) start the game load a save check ram usage then later about 40 mins in check it again as it running in real time it only cares about whats going ON NOW in the game and not before
not ram because the game engine only cares about the NOW and not the THEN
ok so pretty much I bought sims 3 yesterday and I was really really excited about it. …now Im just kinda pissed. Graphics keep messing up everywhere I look. as far as I know my video card and everything is compatible or at least the back of the box said it. I have every sims game that has every came out and i find this newest one the worst. yes there are things about it that are awesome, but I really just wish they had kept making more expansions for sims 2. but anyways I kinda need help with this thing. I don’t know if its just the fact that I need a patch for the game or something about my graphics card isn’t good enough. but when i try to create a person the one they start out with when you enter the create a sim mode is fine..but if you change anything the face turns black..not just skin color just random glitch. also some of the items in the game such as pictures, some mirrors, all the bars, and some appliances have weird glitches..its almost like a bunch of little blue dots in the same of the object. over time they will eventually look how they are supposed to…then after playing for about an hour..my computer just goes crazy. and a blue screen pops up saying to restart my computer that a serious error has happened. so Idk what to do now..I really would just like to take it back, but I hope its that EA needs a patch and not my computer because according to the back of the box my computer is fully capable of playing the sims 3. anyone have an answer?
Once again more than likely updating your graphics card driver should help. i know I have told alot of people that but, when a texture of some sort is missing like this or black triangles everywhere its probably just because of an outdated driver.
