My Xbox 360 Stories

I’ve decided to blog about my recent stories and experiences with the Xbox 360 Console. In all of the years since the console was first released I never had any problems and I think I’ve gone through 50-80 Xbox 360′s with in that time. Anyway…

I had a problem with one of my consoles which result in me buying a new one. The problem with this is was is left to be unknown. The console before the new Dashboard update, I would get the “unplayable disc” error. So I went to Youtube and found this. That worked for a good 3 days so since my warranty has expired I figured hey I build computers I used to mod Xbox’s, I used to fix my own consoles at one point, so what the hell? I bough this console used. It lasted a good 8 months before it started acting a bitch. The lens was not scratched or anything. Now with the new dashboard it says “open tray” that’s an update version of the “unplayable disc” error. I’ve tried movies and every game I had and it just would not play. So I decided to do some experimenting. I would stick a disc in and listen. You know how when the Xbox is reading a disc and shit you could tell right? Right, well it would do that and then nothing else. Like the disc drive is stalling. So that’s a mystery left unsolved and won’t be reopened cause I bought a new one.

Well this one was giving me problems too. I couldn’t play Gears of War 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Left 4 Dead or any game with a loading screen. Oh but this console it would play all of my Guitar Hero games and Rock Band games just fine. So I did more research and went to a store and bought another copy of Grand Theft Auto IV, it was doing the same thing as my original copy, so I sent that back to the store and just dealt with it for a while. Until one day the console got so hot the memory cards were hot and I haven’t had it on for a solid minute. I was thinking, “I’m just having a wave of bad-luck with consoles“. So I called them up and requested a UPS shipping label. I had my other console registered online and when I saw the label to print it out, it had my old shipping address, and the number at my new residence. So I’m pissed cause these fools delayed my shit being fixed even longer. I sat there and told the man the exact address to where to shipping label should come to. So they had to cancel out that one and do it again. So I’m telling the technician on the phone what is wrong with my Xbox which is now a lady and she’s asking me all the same crap the dude had asked me and I told her that I’ve tried all of that. I was also wondering why they didn’t record this shit so I wouldn’t have to repeat myself. So then I’m pissed that on the site that I can register as many consoles as I want and when I click, “register a console” it just shows me the outdated warranty one that is sitting in a box in my living room. So I called them and tried to get them to register it and apparently they kept beating around so I hung the fuck up.

Finally January 5, 2009 comes around which is on a Monday. & I send my xbox in, I’ve been patiently, impatiently waiting on my Xbox 360 to return. It was a grueling week and 6 days before they told me that they have shipped my Xbox 360 and it is returning to you. So I go on the site, under Console Shipped it says nothing, its not complete. The E-mail says that they would email me when its being shipped. So why on the site it says it has been shipped but I need a damn email as a reminder? This was Saturday, here it is Monday. UPS is dragging their asses. I hope I get results tomorrow or I’m going to go nuts. I need my video games. I want to play Left 4 Dead.

If anyone reads this, can you tell me whats wrong with my first one if you know?
