I believe in God and I am a Christian. Im sorry if I sound rude. Please dont base all Christians on the ones you have met that are stupid. Some Christians say they are Christians and go off and do horrible stuff, I agree, not all of us are like that. I dont trash Atheists because I hate when people do that to me. And what a loving God we live for, that he would give everyone the option to be a part of him. I pray for you, for it is God’s will for you to be saved, and he has a love for you that is unconditional and blameless. Many in the bible denied Christ before they came to know him, i pray that you receive him just as they received him. For scripture says “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God raised him from the dead then you will be saved, for it is with your heart that you believe and are justified.” Romans 10:9-10

Lee, I am a Christian. I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was 11. At this age I knew right from wrong and my parents let it be my decision to get baptized. I knew in my heart that I wanted to live my life according to God’s will. I am 21 now and I can say with all honesty that God has done wonders in my life. Through deaths, depression, illnesses, good and bad decisions, rocky relationships, and rebellion. God is my rock. He is my foundation. I pray to Him everyday and he has blessed me in sooooo many ways because I have have given my life to Him.

For example, Bryan and I have been together since I was 12 and he 14. (Crazy, I know.) I remember praying all through jr and high school that if it was God’s will, to please let me marry Bryan. On the 16 of May this year, I was blessed with an amazing marriage to Bry.

Also, my grandmother has survived two heart attacks. One day, a few years ago she was going to an appointment to determine whether or not she would need open heart surgery again. I ran four miles that day and I simultaneously prayed for her health the whole way. That evening her results came back clear. I was ecstatic and thanked God for His amazing blessing.

These are just couple of instances when Jesus has really reached into my life. I have faith that He will reach into yours too, if you invite Him in.

On prayer:

Communicating with deity isn’t really that unbelievable after all! First off: God is all-powerful. Right? At least according to most religions. Do you seriously think that just because it’s impossible for us, (who are FAR from becoming a perfect race and FAR from using our brains to even HALF their capacity) here on this insignificant, lonely, little planet, that God – I mean the all-powerful, all-knowing being that is said to be up there somewhere – can’t do it? Perhaps you should reconsider science, or maybe just take some time to figure out which “version” of science you believe in. I’ll give you an example of what I mean in a second. Second: Please open up your browser, go to http://www.google.com and type in “Q-U-A-N-T-U-M P-H-Y-S-I-C-S” and see where researching that field leads you concerning the subject of distances and measurable brain waves. Yes… I really DO think you ought to consider rethinking your life, my friend. ^^ More on that later.

Just as a sidelong note on miracles: James E. Thalmage (said by many scientists to have been one of the greatest scientists of his time) once made this statement: “To deny the actuality of miracles on the ground that, because we cannot comprehend the means, the reported results are fictitious, is to arrogate to the human mind the attribute of omniscience, by implying that what man cannot comprehend cannot be, and that therefore he is able to comprehend all that is.” My question to you: Are you omniscient? Not “do you think you are” but ARE you? If you are, please tell me how to overcome the bounds of gravity, I’ve been aching for those results for years!

Then, like I said, there’s the matter of various versions of science. You see, science (as you probably think of it) is mostly a theoretical thing. There’s the Big Bang >>THEORY<>THEORY<< and so forth. And because it is such a theoretical thing you'll get LOTS and LOTS of different opinions. I wonder of which opinion you are, for example, in view of the subject of the age of mankind? Please, once again, feel free to – as they call it – google this point of interest: "age of human race" + "10.000 years" or "10.000.000 years" or "7.000 years", etc. It's actually almost ironic how much "proof" there is on all of those! Some scientists say this, some say that. But don't let that discourage you from being an Atheist! You must stick to what you believe, remember? Just because! Out of sheer determination! Kind of like a good Catholic. They know their church is a fraud but they still cling to it like flies to a piece of crap. ^^ And you know what? I think that's just as well, but sometimes you need to THINK before you act.

I hope by now you've realized what I'm trying to do here. I am by no means trying to convince you ANYHOW that religion is the right way to go. I am merely interested in finding out whether you really are that inflexible as to suggest that religion is completely wrong and, moreover, that Christianity is so wrong. For everyone. (Food for thought?) I'll come to inflexibility in a bit. It's a curious thing, that.

On the meaning of life:

What "THE HELL" (I know, I LOVE that phrase!!! Especially in connection with the current context. ^^) is your life worth? Why are you here? What are you good for? What do you live for? Women? Beer? TV? SCIENCE?! Let me allow myself a little "lol". So! You've evolved from monkeys over thousands of years and are now at the point where your intelligence is so high that you can consider the point of your life. May I ask you why you haven't committed suicide yet? I mean, I'm sure it's been an option in the past, right? When everything goes wrong and you just don't see the sense behind all the torture anymore? Hm. What stops a man or a woman from just killing themselves? Let me elaborate:

I will start out with the word "instinct". I like that word. It's short, concise, full of meaning! Instinct is what drives us, IN FACT, instinct is what drives most living creatures. We instinctively know when to eat, sleep, etc. God, however tells us that "the natural man is an enemy to [HIM]". Bummer. So in order to become like God (which by the way is His plan for us, if you follow the Bible [if you've even READ the Bible, eh???]) we must first put off the natural man – so all of those instincts that make us "bad" have to go! "BUT IT'S JUST NATURAL!" Wow. Never heard a dumber statement. Ever. Let's take a look at why I say that: 1. AIDS. One of the most prevalent deadly plagues man has ever incurred upon himself. Not enough? 2. Murder! (and, in conjunction, suicide.) If I kill a man in the street because he made me angry, WHY in the world would I get arrested?! It's just natural to fight and kill when you get angry, right? Hey, it WAS in the stone age! Why not now? Because it's morally wrong to kill a man? Pah! It's just natural. (Note that I marked the word "bad" with quotation marks. Who makes bad bad? Who sets the rules? WHY set those rules? Have you considered the word anarchy in connection with atheism? Perhaps you should do some more digging…?)
Let me not continue with this list, it's too long already. Instead, back to my question: Why haven't you killed yourself yet? It's just natural! Especially when you feel down or angry with yourself. (I am also, by the way, not implying that you should kill yourself. I, for one, believe that your life serves a purpose. But you'll have to figure that one out yourself. ^^) So obviously intelligence and instinct can make a lethal mixture. Then why does a man that calls Himself the Father of us all want us to use our intelligence wisely so that we DON'T have illicit sex and rape and murder and plunder and so on? Good question, right? And by the way, why would any MAN – here on earth – come up with such stupid rules? Was there a surge for self-mastery at some point in human history? Did someone realize that killing everyone off was just kinda pointless? There's a bit more to the puzzle, isn't there. Why keep yourself under check when "it's just natural" to do everything else like our "forefathers", the MONKEYS??? (Again, "lol". Or perhaps "ROFL"?! ^^)

And by the way, I know that immortality and eternal life are two things that are hard to think of or even imagine. (They ARE two separate things. You knew that, I suppose.) Thus, the term "zombie" is quite understandable and honestly, really funny! Especially from an inflexible Atheist.

INFLEXIBLE: "Not capable of being swayed or diverted from a course". What a noble thing, right? But wait, noble would be a moral word, which doesn't apply to Atheism, due to "see above text for explanation". Obviously being called "inflexible" has deeper meaning than that statement up there. Being inflexible also means, that you are incapable of broadening your horizon. That you are under the illusion that what you think is and MUST be completely correct, that there are no alternatives and that you are unwilling to yield to reason – and yes, if you've noticed, I've used good ol' reason to make sense of religion for you all along this… well… anecdote, which it has now become. I would like to combine the word "inflexible" with "the meaning of life". Consider the fact that you are a hypocrite. You live. You really have no real reason to. If you don't abide by God's plan – which is designed to bring you from the pre-mortal existence ALLLLLLLLLLL the way through this life to God's kingdom, as it were – then you have no reason to exist. Animals and plants serve to feed us. They have instinct (animals do at least) to keep the entire ecosystem in balance. But they are not as intelligent as we are. We aren't and haven't been "evolving", so to speak, into anything else, anything "more" human than we are now. And that for… well, 7.000, 10.000, or 10.000.000 years. Imagine that. Therefore our life is useless. In fact, we destroy life! We make this beautiful planet uninhabitable by our everyday actions. If all of us were Atheists we would all be hypocrites because we support moral behavior in order for our species to survive, but we don't have a point in surviving. And surviving isn't even FUN! I mean, life is HARD. Really hard. And it makes no sense for anyone to go through anything this difficult. By mere reasoning, many years ago, human leaders should then have made the decision to wipe out all of mankind, because of our uselessness, our destructiveness. But we live.

The Bible, my friend, is a guide. Whether it was inspired by God or whether some self-conscious old men we call prophets took the time to write down their history and "imaginations" of what deity told them, is up to you to find out. All I'm saying, is that there is so much more to life than what you could even imagine to be possible. And if the Bible isn't going to convince you of it's truthfulness, perhaps other scripture will. Read the following books thoroughly, give each of them great thought and pondering, then THINK before you write anything denouncing religion or Christianity ever again. You'll find that thinking before acting is rather beneficial. Here a small curriculum of interesting scripture: The Holy Koran, The Torah and Jewish law and prayer books, The Book of Mormon and its extensions, books on Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.

Remember that everyone has his or her own personal views. Those views are to be respected. Look at what commentary like yours has done to our world today. Everyone is arguing and fighting for no reason whatsoever. Let people think and believe what they wish. Be patriotic and stick to what you believe if you wish, but not overly so that you infringe upon people's personal rights, wishes, ideas, etc. You have the gift of choosing what is right. You don't need to accept religion and you don't need to accept Christianity. You DO need to accept that there are people like you out there that believe in their own religion so firmly that they will never surrender their beliefs or even discuss any possible faults or errors. And most important of all, understand that your beliefs are yours. Not everyone will agree with you and to publish your hatred of someone's beliefs is inconsiderate, inhumane, and unreasonable.

The Holy Ghost in Christianity:
You don't hear the whisperings of the Holy Ghost? Have you ever prayed to God to actually find out whether there really IS a plan and whether He really DOES exist? No. Because you cling to your "scientific" theory that it is impossible for God to hear you. I have three words for ya: JUST DO IT. And don't do it like "God are you really there I want a pizza with extra cheese and salami Amen. Time to go take out the trash". And don't do it with the attitude, "oh there's no one there anyway". KNEEL DOWN, CLOSE YOUR EYES, THINK OF ACTUALLY TALKING TO SOMEONE IN YOUR VICINITY, and TALK to God. As if he were there. And if you pay close attention, you will sense the Holy Ghost TALKING to you in response to your request. How do I PROVE the Holy Ghost exists? I DARE YOU to PROVE to me that you EVER, EVER loved someone. I dare you. Prove it! And then tell me exactly what salt tastes like. Answer: you can never do either. Unless I experience both of those first-hand I will never believe you nor be convinced nor KNOW what either feels or tastes like. Get my meaning? Don't try to make others prove things they can't because there are simpler things you can NEVER prove yourself, thus making you a hypocrite, once again.

Finally, (yes take a deep breath, you're almost through… for today ^^) and in view of your first comment in your text, let me ask you these questions: Why do you think children believe in Santa Clause? Why do you think you'll really wake up the next morning? It's because of a word called faith. Faith is what moves everyone. And even as an Atheist you have faith. Look at Hebrews 11. Faith is believing in something you cannot feel, smell, taste, touch, hear, but you know it's there. OK, I'll give to you that a child doesn't have faith in Santa but that it believes blindly because it trusts its parents. But real faith builds upon itself. It improves the quality of your life and it gives it a meaning, depending on whether your faith is built upon truth or not. And faith will only grow when it is sustained by truth. Anything else turns faith into blind belief. Faith is therefore much greater a thing to acquire than is knowledge. Knowledge is finite. You can only ever know so much. And when you know everything you cease to be useful. That is why belief in science alone will get you nowhere. You cannot simply believe everything you're told by a scientist because that's only part of the whole. A scientist will tell you the sun rises at exactly this and this time tomorrow morning. Is that all there is to it? No, there are various factors that need to be fulfilled in order for you to see that sunrise. You must be alive for example. Gravity must be in place. The sun must yield its gases in order to burn brightly. Don't think that just because you are satisfied with certain answers they are all true. And please, don't be a hypocrite. Hypocrites are unpleasant people that make religious and atheist life difficult. Know who you are and know what you believe. The rest is up to you and faith.

With all of that said, let me tell you this in parting:
I believe that Jesus Christ is the living Son of the Almighty God. That he he died for all of us, whether we like it or not, whether we accept it or not. He is real. And I have yet to find any truly valid proof against His or His Father's existence. I also believe in upholding and accepting the beliefs of all around me, as long as they allow me to practice my own faith in freedom. I know that the Fall is real because I believe in the Creation. I know that it was necessary for Eve to give in to Lucifer's prodding. Otherwise NONE of us would be here today. Including you. I also know that all of us that are here on this planet today, according to scripture, made the decision to follow God's plan for us and that if we do follow His plan we will be happy. I find it intriguing and saddening that anyone here today should reject the Father of all Creation with any amount of hatred or malevolence. I know all of this through the power of the Holy Ghost and by the Faith that is in me and keeps these things alive, even if at times they fade and are dim.

Man, I could go on for ages and NEVER be finished! And according to my precursor said, may God bless you. Rise to greater heights and see if you can't improve your life while you're in it. I guarantee it'll pay off in the end.

Okay. You know what. I accept the fact that you are an atheist. Good for you. And, you are right…no one on here will ever be able to convince you otherwise. And, you probably won’t find it in the Bible either. It’s a personal thing. It’s your personal choice to not believe, just as it is another’s personal choice to believe. But, if you are going to have an intelligent conversation and debate, ripping someone apart about it just isn’t going to do it. Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes. It goes either way. And…to be honest, someone is going to find out they are wrong or not at some point. And, with a near death experience, I dumped the atheism. Something about coming face to face with your own mortality does that sometimes.
