Men & The Word Bitch
November 27, 2008 by Lee
This is specifically for the men. I will get on the female subject in a few. What is with this word? Just because they feel they don’t know what a girls name is; they call her a bitch. I don’t know the actual source to this phenomenon, but its saddening. A few few sources I can actually say is this hip-hop/rap music. These men and women just express their ways of disrespecting women by using that word. This music is impressionable on men who see these people as their role-models. Its twice as bad if they live in urban, rural, ghetto areas. I was raised in the ghetto but I had respect for others. The only time I would use that word is to describe how something is hurting or if someone is really acting like a bitch. Which leads me to my next point.
People’(s) definition of the “bitch” varies. Its so many definitions of the word but its all the same. The most used definition of the word is this,
–noun
| 2. |
a female of canines generally. |
| 3. |
Slang.
| a. |
a malicious, unpleasant, selfish person, esp. a woman. |
|
| 4. |
Slang.
| b. |
anything difficult or unpleasant: The test was a bitch. |
| c. |
anything memorable, esp. something exceptionally good: That last big party he threw was a real bitch. |
|
–verb (used without object)
| 5. |
Slang. to complain; gripe: They bitched about the service, then about the bill. |
–verb (used with object)
| 6. |
Slang. to spoil; bungle (sometimes fol. by up): He bitched the job completely. You really bitched up this math problem. |
The main one people use it as its “a lewd woman”. I don’t really think they are using it as calling a female “a female
dog“. Even though recently I’ve been hearing, “
a dog is a mans best friend so that makes you my bitch.” Okay, thats highly uncalled for and I believe this also came from the media. They are making it okay to call everyone woman they come to meet a bitch. It shouldn’t be that way. Its sad that people are looking as this a solution to their problems.
Men sometimes too are called bitches. Bitch as in a soft person or a female. This thing that all females are weak and soft individuals is all cause of the fact that we bleed once a month, that we cry and show our emotions and we have children. Men see’s us as the weaker counterpart. The point is, we get slapped in the face with this word so much, even though some deserve it but not all of us. All of us shouldn’t be bitches because some females are the way they are. We get all categorized in one category cause they feel that its okay to call us a bitch. I blame this on the media,
peer pressure,
self-esteem, the
family, how they were raised, the area from which they were raised and the people they hang around. Sometimes thats not even the case with some of the reasons I mentioned. Sometimes they have their own mind and find it comfortable to use that word. Well I guess one person can’t change all the disrespectful men but this is just my rant(s) for the today. Take it how you want it. Its not my font that gets you upset, its yourself.
